Pirates of the Carribean: The Search for Curly's Gold

My wife dragged me to this flick over the weekend.

As the thunderous Dolby stereo washed over me and the relentless CGI assaulted my eyeballs, I came away thinking the film had something to do with a...

-magic compass, magic key, jar of sand, dead guy's heart, island of hungry cannibals, giant sea monster, gambling game for souls, bad guy in a wig, bad guy with a starfish on his face, ship full of bad guys led by Squidward from Spongebob Squarepants fame, etc.

It was all very confusing and tedious to sit through without a barf bag or bottle of aspirin.

The teenagers in front of me seemed to like it. The second it ended, all 15 of them pulled out cell phones and called:

Friends?
Family?
Bookies?
Dial-a-Devotion Daily?
Commissioner Gordon?

This world is passing me by.

I saw it too. Not nearly as good as the first one. Depp seemed to try too hard, and I hate movies that don't really end. If the first was a 10 then this was a 6. It's actually "Pirate's of the Carribean--Dead Mans Chest". Curly's Gold was City Slickers 2.........

Hahaha...I always laugh at these kids who are hanging out together, but they are never speaking to one another, they are speaking to other people on their cells.

Maybe they all called each other to talk about the movie they just sat through.

As for smoking weed, that stuff sends me straight to the couch for a long nap. I need to be outside trimming the weeds, not smoking them.

When Red Green comes on the TV and says, "I want to talk to all of you middle-aged guys..." I find myself craning my neck to hear whatever he has to say.

And it's not just the Pirates movie, it's ALL modern movies. I feel like the guy in Clockwork Orange, strapped to the seat with my eyes forced open. The computer graphics, swirling camera angles, and deafening soundtracks are more an assault on the senses than a movie experience. I prefer to go for a walk.

Got dragged to the movie too. I enjoyed the first one, second one was okay, but since it was teh wifey's choice - I gotta little nookie afterwards.

I'd sit through any movie if it led to sex.

The most amazing thing is that it was all based on a true story.

I can still come here from work. Not allowed on the other site tho. Maybe it has something to do with the domain name :?

Besides, don't have to deal with Jefe in San Diego since he was run from here.

Sounds good. I've already written the sequel to your movie.

It's called the Mighty Quinns of the Carribean: The Search for Maubee's Gold.
