Two Questions

1. Do you beleeb WVU can win a MNC?
2. Why/why not?
...
1. Yes.
2. Rich Rodriguez. Yes, the 'Eers hae a favorable schedule, and should run through the Big Least. I think that conference will be at least marginally improved. If WVU makes it through unblemished, and gets into the BCS title game (other conferences looking like they'll be tough to get through with unbeaten records), then on the basis of RR's excellent gameplanning and schemes, I see them getting it done.

1. yes
2. Their only really tough game is against Louisville. If they run the table they will be in the MNC game and have a 50/50 shot of winning it. They have a 2 great young talents in their backfield in White and Slaton.

1. No
2. The cake schedule will leave them unprepared to play any other team good enough to be in the MNC game. They have talent in White and Stanton, but I believe they have a number of question marks on defense, especially the D backs. Finally, a Hokie fan would rather admit to being skilled in the art of fellatio than answering "yes" to question 1.

I thought this way until seeing them totally dominate Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
WVU needs to start a series against a top level team to prove that they are legit. The biggest bitch about FSU was that they played in the ACC. They offset this by playing Miami and UF every year.
WVU needs someone in the same boat as themselves. The only issue is that the only other team that is in a similar quandry is Louisville.
A great series would be against a team like Cal. Cal has proven they can hang with the big boys by beating USC in '04 and taking them to the wire in '05. It would add instant credibility to both teams OCC, and there would be less questions about both teams when the bowls came around.
The only issue is the distance. There aren't too many intersectional rivalries to begin with and the travel costs could prohibit this from becoming an annual series.
Long story short:
1. Yes
2. With Rodriguez at the helm, they won't be outcoached too often.

Especially since their uniforms are nearly identical.

1 - No
2 - They play Louisville on the road
WVU is a very good team no doubt. You can knock their OOC schedule all you want, but there are teams that do not want to play them at this point in time. They proved that they are a legitimate team after their win over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
That being said, WVU is certainly a beatable team. After Pat White took over in the Louisville game WVU scored over 38 or more points in 4 of their last 5 games, the bowl game included. The lone time they scored under 38 points with White at QB (28 points to USF), was against a defense with fast enough LB's to slow down their running game. If a defense can force White to pass more than the 10-15 attempts he was accustomed to, then you can beat WVU.
Louisville is good enough defensively, and they are certainly capable offensively to beat WVU, especially since they get them at home.

1. Yes, but they won't.
2. They can roll over a buttload of crap opponents on the way to an undefeated season. There will be two other teams that are undefeated out of better conferences this year and they'll be (deservingly) shut out of the BCS title game.
I'm an idiot. I meant '03 and '04. Kal ('sup Jimmy) won in '03 and took them to the wire in '04.

1. No.
2. Just a hunch. It seems like whenever a team comes into the season with everyone saying how easy their conference schedule is going to be, they end up losing a head-scratcher. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see them beat Louisville on the road, but lose to UConn or USF.

1. Yes, but probably won't.
2. Agree with most on this board to one extent or another. If WVU is one of three undefeated teams at season's end, they'll be left out of the BCS championship game. And there's enough potential problems in there that WVU could easily drop a game. Louisville is the most obvious, but USF, UConn, Pitt and even Maryland could throw a surprise at them.

All the SEC was overrated last year, but don't think for a moment that UGA really took them serious.
They probably came in thinking they were up against a team on the same level as South Carolina.
By taking them lightly they got ran out of the stadium.
Fact is WVU is a good team but they are not an elite team. They would get run by teams like Texas, USC, tOSU, PSU and probably about 4 or 5 others.

1. No
2. They are bound to get upset along the way. They will go to the BCS but not the championship game.
