Why is Reggie Bush on the cover? Will he be a player in the game?
I haven't really played NCAA 200X at all. DO they usually keep players on their respective teams after they've gone pro early? Did they keep Mo Clarrett for 3 more years? Is Football Jesus going to be in 2007?

Can't have current players on the cover of the game.
I'm sure he will be on the all time USC team, but that would be the only way you could play with him. Ditto FJ.

K,
I could have sworn I just saw a commercial with RB on the cover of the NCAA 2007 game. He was the animated player in the game they were showing. His actual voice was narrating the commercial.
Or I dreamed this whole damn thing...

Texas has had a few guys on the cover of NCAA 2kx as well as EA Sports version.
I was hoping Vince would be on the cover but he will just have to take the cover of the NFL version in a couple of years.

Indy,
Every year since NCAA Football started a non-college football player has been on the cover. Just because it shows him on the cover doesnt make him in the game. I am sure you did see a commercial with him in the game. But it is just a commercial. They are wanting to show you the aspects of the game.
Also, they do not have player names in the game, college kids cant endorse stuff, ect. This is stuff you should know. Whether you play the console game or just watch college football.
Ps. Last years cover had Desmond Howard on the cover and had a commercial of him doing the heisman. Was he on michigans team?

T,
I know the players can't endorse the product. However, I also know that EA Sports does their best to set the game up as if the actual players were there.
I just didn't realize that pro players were featured on the covers. Like I said, it's been years since I played one of these games. The only game I play on my PS2 is Tiger Woods Golf.

It is Bush who is narating the commercials. He's in the game, likely on one of their all time teams.
And I would bet dollars to doghnuts that FJ never appears on the cover of an NFL game.

They put the majority of the players from each team on the game. As long as your on the roster in the spring and atleast 2nd string, you will be in the game. Your name wont but your number will.
Bush, White, and Leinhart will all be in the game. They will be on the 04' USC Squad, i believe. Not on this years USC squad.

Isn't the '05 USC squad like the All NCAA Team though? Do they have one of those like they have an All Madden Team?

'05 USC squad is only on madden. There is no way any squad past or present could compete with the 05 USC in NCAA Football 07, so they put them on madden.
I hear if you simulate the 84 Bears vs. 05 USC on madden. USC will hang atleast half a hundred in the first qt and Ditka will beg Carroll to stop the game somtime during halftime.

Trying to compete with USC '05 is like trying to compete with someone in a fart stink contest who already shit their pants.

Even if he was, he wouldn't have started. We recruited over him.

They also did the Desmond Howard cover because of the new Heisman feature... I mean, like it or not, but his highlight is probably the most recognizable Heisman highlight of all time.
Also, as for this year's version of the game, I'm hearing SIMS meets Football.
That would make me very sad... at least until Madden comes out. Then I'm selling that bitch anyway.

I personally prefer NCAA to Madden. They have always had a rookie NFLer on the cover. They usually try to have the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, unless the winner stays in college another year. Thats one reason why Howard was on this past year's, b/c Leniart stayed in school.

I don't prefer NCAA to Madden because Madden makes you play more "real" football and less "video game" football crap.

I prefer NCAA to Madden because I want to play with Oregon rather than an NFL team.

Well, I'm sure you could find an NFL Europe or an XFL game for pretty cheap. Then you could just pretend that it's Oregon based on the unis. I mean, if you're just into that, save yourself some money. You're gonna need it for laser surgery someday anyway, watching those piss-colored threads run up and down the fuck...
What's that? We don't play Oregon this year?
Oh.
WAR Phil Knight buying whatever he wants.

NCAA 07 is pretty much going to determine whether or not I buy a PS3. It's the only game I buy every year.
Unfortunately, Skull is right. The last two versions of NCAA have been absolutely horrible. I still don't play Madden, because I couldn't give a rat's ass about the NFL, but I have heard that the AI is significantly better. I can definitely vouch for the "arcadeyness" of NCAA over the past couple years. It's verging on NCAA Street.
Anyway, if 07 sucks as bad as the last two, I'm holding off on buying a PS3. No sense in dropping $500+ on a new system if the only game I play is a steaming pile of shit.

September 16, Eugene Oregon.
Any offer of help with anything on these boards is always appreciated. I'm usually fairly "well-connected" on such things, but every place I've asked around seems to be "that's a tough one."

I'll see if my buddy that's a ticket broker is doing anything with tickets to the UO game. He's pretty well-connected in the business (50 yard line, OU / Tejas every year since 2000...) but he may not be messing with that one...
...also, you might be on the OU side, but that would be a postive as you'll be around happy fans and smarter ones too. :D

I know that. I meant that if NCAA 07 sucks balls on PS2, there's no way I'm dropping $500-600 on a PS3 just to play NCAA 08 and beyond. 07 is pretty much EA's last chance for me.
I've only played 3 games so far (2 online and 1 against the CPU) and I've dicked around for a couple hours in practice mode. So far, I'm less than impressed. Passing is way too easy. I'm usually an option guy, but I completed around 60-70% of my passes for around 600 yards, 5 TDs, and no INTs in those two online games. And that's with Bernard Jackson, a scrambler from CU with 78 THA. That's just not realistic.
This looks to be the year of the spread offense. Many of the playbooks look really shotgun-heavy...

There are more fumbles, and the defense actually has a chance to recover them, so that's good.
But yesterday, McKnight fumbled to a GaTech CB, who returned it down the sideline for about 40 yards, and was then crushed by Quinn, and fumbled the ball.
I like this game much more. The tackling is improved, and the runner hurdles on his own, which allows you to stiff arm with the Y button.
Much better game.

played a few games last night and i really like it better than last year.
of course, it beign on the 360, i had to COMPLETELY change all the buttons to the PS2 style of play, but all in all...i relaly like it.
the running game IS tougher...i used to love running the speed option from the pro formation...now it's ALOT tougher...as well as getting those big runs from other formations.
or course pitches still dont work worth a damn.
in my first two games as OU..i've had 4 picks returned for TDs tho...which makes me think they've definatly twinked the D.
i think i still like the 04 game best myself...but i've only played 2 games...i'll give more of an opinion soon enough....i'm ready to g online with 07

The game is sweet on the 360.
I got it yesterday and have played about 4 games already. I'm just one game into my season though.
Momentum is a killer, which is probably what you ran into against Oregon, BtH.
The first 3 games that I played(all against the same team) went COMPLETELY different because of it. Which is actually kind of fun, but it's a bitch to get the momentum swinging the other way once your opponent has it. I'm sure it will get a lot easier once you get good at it.
My first game, I ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. Then, on the ensuing kickoff I plowed over their return man, knocking the ball loose and running THAT in for a TD.
Needless to say, that game ended with me wondering if they'd made the game way too easy (56-7 or some such).
Not to fear. I play the game again (same teams) and throw a pick on my first series. They end up getting a score and the momentum and I could never recover. I ended up getting blown out.
I settled down a bit in my third and played a relatively normal game, and then I started my dynasty, where I won my first game fairly easily.
The running game is more realistic and more difficult and I'm finding that you have to actually follow your blockers, which is kind of nice. Also, it seems like you have to get rid of the ball pretty quickly (as the QB), or get out of the pocket. A couple seconds in there and the defense is collapsing on you.
Overall seems like I big improvement from '06, that I had for PS2.

This might be old news to some of you Madden guys, but there are a couple new features that aren't in the instruction book. I have the PS2 version, so I can't vouch if these work on 360.
Formation audibles. In addition to your 5 preset audibles, each offensive formation has a set of 4 default audibles. Press square to audible, then use the R3 stick to call them. Up for a short pass, right for a long pass, down for a run, or left for a PA pass.
On defense, after the snap you can play run commit by pulling down on the R3 stick or pass commit by pushing up. Beware though, if you run commit and it's a PA, the WR is gonna be wiiiide open.
I've heard both of these features are from Madden, but I haven't bought Madden since 03, and like I said, it's not in the instruction manual. Just a heads up.
