Mods for NFL Picks

With the season approaching, I've cleared our mod roster for this forum. Folks that are generous enough to step up and run the various contests (Pick 'Em, Confidence, Survivor) will be given mod capabilities.
Previous mods are absolutely welcome to continue running their previous contests ... we're just starting the season with a clean slate, so to speak.

I'll gladly let someone run survivor this time. I'll run it only if no one else steps up.

Strange.
I already offered to run all the contests.

There is nothing sadder than when somebody gets replaced, who doesn't know that they've been replaced.
Can you not read the writing on the wall, dave?
It says to take Yahoo and yourself on down the road.
Thanks for playing.

Wags, nice to see you are still an ignorant fuck.
The day after last season, January 2nd to be exact, I stated the following:
"while I do plan on running the contest again next season, I will not be running it here."
Read the entire post if you like.
Well guess what? Its 7 months later. Im still going to run the contest, and it will be on Yahoo. If a few of you fags want to strut around in your capris and halters, admire your pink wallpaper and mauve shag carpet, so you have that touchy feel good comfort, so be it.
Oh, and last I looked, I have yet to see a line around the block of peeps offering to run what ever contests will be held here. Therefore, I nominate you Wags. Maybe running a contest would keep you from getting your ass handed back to you on a daily basis.

Geez, c'mon, folks.
We all want the same thing.
That being, reliable contests.
Dave handled the confidence game very well last season.
Wagon ran it very well also for a couple of seasons in the not-too-distant past.
Saying you're gonna go to Yahoo and have some posters follow you there just makes no sense, dave.
Why split the team ... ?
It was offered to you to put the thing to a vote and you got on your high horse, played like Al Haig and declared yourself to be in charge.......or so it seems.
THERE'LL BE NO vote, was your stance.
What the hell .... ?!?
Did anyone come into that thread backing your suggestion ... ?
So far it's only those wishing to have the games remain on this board.
If the people are fucked up in their thinking, ..... oh well.
They're a happy fucked up.
So be it.
Let's keep the team together, for crying out loud.
There's no reason for this nonsense.

Even nicer to see you with your head lodged so firmly up your ass that you can't see the light of day.

So what? Everyone's supposed to follow your lead? It's not looking like that's working out so well for you.
Maybe you should throw a tantrum whilst you make petulant demands.
Wait...you've
already done that, and see where it's gotten you?

I already said that I'd run it if nobody else stepped up. Did you forget that? Sure, I'd rather that somebody else take a turn, but I'll do the confidence game myself if necessary, on this BOARD, before fooling around with YAHOO.
As well, being as how there are over SIX weeks left until the season starts, I feel no sense of urgency about volunteering my services at this time. That said, if in the next month or so, no other is willing to step forward and agree to keep track, then it'll be on me.

Wags, thanks for stepping up and accepting my nomination. Im sure you will do a fine job running the contest.
tart, BWA! First Al Haig reset I have read in about 5 years. Funny as hell, even at my expense.
Now its time for a little cut-n-paste:

tart, most of this dispute stems from what one would define as reliable. You seem to prefer the way it has been done in the past. You like the comforts of home.
As far as I know, you have never tried playing a Yahoo contest, and are basically un-willing to try something else.
If that is indeed the case; then you are every bit as guilty of going old fogey, stubburn mule, as I am of going Al Haig.
My idea of reliable means everyone has much more flexibilty, and that things indeed are reliable.
If a guy wants to make 4 weeks of picks before going out of town he can. The poor fucker running the contest wont be bothered, wont have to remember to go back, yadda yadda yadda. Also, if a guy wants to see the exact standings 5 minutes after the MNF game, he can. He will never have to wait for some jack off like you, me, or Wags (Thanks Wags, for running the contest this year) to get around to posting the results.
poptart wrote:Dave handled the confidence game very well last season.
Very well, when other methods are not part of the option.
poptart wrote:Wagon ran it very well also for a couple of seasons in the not-too-distant past.
See post above.

It makes sense to those that have a little higher expectations of what one would define as a reliable contest.
Getting late here, I will finish up tomorrow night.

Um, Im not the one trying to split the team. Im the one trying to make things easier for all involved.

Al Haig smack aside, it is my contest, be that what its worth. I can take it where ever the hell I want to, no matter what anyone thinks. On the same line, everyone else here can run a contest. Peeps will play in whatever ones they choose.
As far as anyone backing me ...... there will be some. However, dont expect to see them for a month or more. Hell we are still 8 weeks away from the first game. At this point there only 5 or 6 people paying attention to this subject. Me (diehard) for a better way, and everyone else (diehards) wanting things to stay EXACTLY the same.
poptart wrote:If the people are fucked up in their thinking, ..... oh well. They're a happy fucked up. So be it.
Agreed. Someone is fucked up, and I may be the happy fucked up one. If so, so be it.
poptart wrote:Let's keep the team together, for crying out loud. There's no reason for this nonsense.
As I have already stated, Im not looking to divide the team. Seeing that some of you refuse to leave, I will be more than happy to run my contest on Yahoo for those that care to play, and still compete in the contest here, that Wags has so graciously agreed to run. Im pretty confident anyone else playing Yahoo will be more than happy to play in this contest also.
Fun will be had by all, watching Wags offer up excuses for late schedules, results and the like, followed up with pile-ons, and his weekly melt downs.

Thanks for your Pick 'Em service over the past couple seasons, Dave. Unfortunately, we're going a different direction and will be keeping the Pick 'Em, Confidence and Survivor Pools here in this forum.
Have a great season ...

I don't know if I made it evident but I was willing to hand over the reigns of the regular pick 'em game to whomever. The game pretty much runs itself based on how you've got that site set up. I was little slow with posting standings and all that and I think I'm persona non grada this year. I handed over the reigns of the TNC on the MLB forum to Prototype...the only game I'm running now is the SNC on the hockey forum. I'm sure someone will step forward and run/organize pick 'em for this season.
