I don't know what is up with T-Rex, I don't know that this whole NFL thing is not a troll job it does not really matter to me, I believe that it is better to be a fool than a coward and so..

I love this community of guys and gal ;) I have had some of my best laughs here, the year I was gone after the Rome board went down sucked, I was so glad to find you guys again and I am not ever leaving or staying out of contact again here until death or until OU sucks really bad again ;)

I wanted to show T-Rex that you guys actually care about each other, it just takes a little growing up and treating things like a man to understand, it can be tough sometimes, but true men show love with a little sterness.

I would not have brought this up, but I respect you guys and you feel like family.

Today is my 31st birthday, it will be my first birthday on this earth that my father is not present. He either commited suicide or was murdered 3 weeks ago in Marietta, Oklahoma.

Marietta is a small southern Oklahoma town it is a tough place to live or escape, that is why I respect the hell out of Skull for getting his degree and getting the fuck out and making something out of himself, I am not from Marietta but a smaller southern town, I understand how hard it is so RACK the fuck out of Skull.

I loved/hated my dad, for the most part he was a shitty dad, he was on drugs his whole life, he was mentally abusive and I watched him beat my mom on several occasions.

Growing up I tried to be everything that he was not, I even hated OU football gasp. Eventually I learned it was not the things he did that made him bad, that is was actually him that was bad.

I will never forget my days when I fell in love with OU football like him and we watched and went to games together, they are so ever more special now.

He rarely worked would have made a good poster in the main forum here ;) Anyway he was on crystal meth at least the last 3 years, wether he was murdered or commited suicide, when you do drugs like that you are fucking yourself up or hanging around the wrong crowd, it is dangerous.

The police department is corrupt in Marietta, they totally screwed up the crime scene, so if it was murder it would be hard to prove now anyway.

I respect the fuck out of most of you guys, all except the Tejas fans

I am busy going to school fulltime and almost working fulltime so it is hard for me to post so much, but I will always be around.

Maybe T-Rex will get it, I am just trying to help.

Much love and WuRd to my brothers.

condolences on the loss of your father Mo and congrats for not continuing that cycle. My father was pretty much a stranger to me growing up as I never really saw him except when he was at work and there he was a completely different person from who he is now. He provided for me and my brothers everything we'd ever want except for a father to enjoy those things with. Its not at all the same situation that you had and I'd never try to compare the two. Having sons of my own now though, I do realize how hard it is to change that cycle of repeating your parents mistakes and again props to you.

Id give you a Boomer but I never understood what that meant, instead Ill give you what is near and dear to us out here and keeps our spirits up

Sorry to hear about that Ced. I'm going to say one thing that is somewhat negative, although it's something that you already know...

If your dad was mixed up in meth for the last three years, then even if it was a murder, it was a suicide. It was just a prolonged one. You're not like him. I've met you, and you're one of many stand up guys I've met from these boards. I think that, as much as anything else, that's what keeps the guys (and Gal) that are drawn here from leaving. It's hard to NOT feel like family around here... even the Tejas fans... when you're around so many other quality posters and people.

Your dad may not be around to see you get old... and believe me, 31 is OLD. :D ...but your family; us... we aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Keep your head up. You know how to reach me if you ever need to talk.

D

Sorry to hear this, Mo. If it's any consolation, you seem to be doing things quite differently than your dad did. Keep fighting to break the cycle.

MO, happy belated birthday.

Sorry to read about your father.

If you need to get away for a while, shoot me a PM, and come on up for a night. Hell, maybe we can even catch an OU away game on TV up here and get stupid. I'll buy, and I won't even charge you for a weekend's rent.

Peace, bro.

Sorry about your loss and the tough times in your youth. Rack you for overcoming the circumstances. You'll emerge from it a better man. Good luck with the schooling, don't study so much that you can't come in here during the season.

Because he thinks you guys are dicks, I tried to tell him you were not.

I wanted to say something when everything happened because my family was not much support, not for me anyway, but I am not one to search for pity, at the same time I really had no one to talk to and never had someone so close to me die.

My family is almost all women, during this whole thing I had to really step up and become the man, it was hard as fuck being the strong one when I was hurting too, but on a personal level I am a much more sound person now.

I want to thank everyone for being so kind, if Trix wants to be a little bitch then he can be, I just wanted him to see the kind of people he has chosen to leave behind, some of the best people on the face of the earth.

You guys are one of the best things to happen to me in my life and I mean that with all sincerity.

Thanks again.

Ced,

Sorry for your loss. I don't know you personally, but it seems as if you're not of the same mold as the man, and that seems like a good thing with the choices he made. You didn't know me at all, but when I was in a jam, you helped me out.

MO practices what he preaches. November 9, 2002. I'm down at College Station for the A&M/OU game. Reggie McNeal takes over the game as a true freshman and leads A&M to victory over then 8-0 and #1 Oklahoma. One of the greatest games I had ever witnessed in person or on TV. When I got back to Dallas, I asked if anyone taped the game because my scheduled recording didn't work for some reason. MO said he had and would love to get rid of the tape and sent it to me. I still have it and watch it each year before the A&M/OU game.

We give some guys "crap", more than others. We all pretty much came into this board with "guns a blazin". Some of us "got it" and chilled the fuck out. Some of us didn't and still get piled on for damn near everything (even sometimes undeservedly).

Rack Ced for the story. Took some guts to say a lot of those things as you know it is smack bait. Not for me, but eventually and unfortuantely, someone will use it for smack. And as always, this self policing board will take care of it.

Don't know you MO, but happy belated birthday man. I hope it was enjoyable, because you certainly deserve it!! Thanks for sharing...it is nice to see some "reality" in this forum from time to time.

I think I'm going to have to start pulling for the Sooners a bit this year. Of course, that is if the game has no ill implications on the 'Noles title hunt. 8)

I take it you don't have a lot of friends that have started to build families?

When that happens, priorities change...drinking becomes less important and being a good model aggie becomes priority.

That is, until season starts, therefore, providing the excuse.

I've got 4 kids of my own and EVERY one of my friends has at least 2 kids. Ya see, when they're older they go outside and play, they learn to bring you beer, and when the game's on they actually sit down for a little while and watch it with you. Now a bit of advice for those with newborns. Saturday is a great day to feed the baby. You sit on the couch, feed the baby and when the wife asks why you've been sitting there so freaking long, you tell her that the baby JUST fell asleep and you don't want to wake him/her, thus granting yourself another couple of hours watching the game.
