Does she like the red chard or the white chard better?

Chardonnay blows. There's way too many overpriced brands out there. You can spend 25% less on a bottle of Pinot Grigio or Savignon Blanc and get a hell of a better bottle of wine.

Hardly, you fucking pauper. Nothing's too good for Zy and his lady friend, nor do I believe Zy would stand for a few coins acting as an obstacle to the heights of pleasure to be obtained from procuring and consuming the most exquisite expressions of the Chardonnay grape.

May I humbly recommend a few bottles to elevate your well-deserved pleasure?

Begin with the Marcassin to explore what the New World has done with the grape

then compare it to an Old World classic such as a bottle of Montrachet Lafon.

I suggest the 2002. Premier Cru has a respectable price on this wine and they ensure impeccable provenance.

Chard?

Damn, and here I always thought Mo was hetero.

Learn something new every day, I guess.

Alllllthoughhhhhhhhh....the 2004 local chard that gets shoved in my grille a lot lately(you want me to help you bottle your wine for how much? Have fun with that . Save me a case of defects.) is pretty darn good, by chard standards -- certainly one of my least favorite varietals ever.

Fucking chick wine.

Want a california chard that's not too expensive? It's called Ernest and Fucking Julio Chablis. You can often score the whole box for under $10. California definetly isn't the place for fine chards, but on the other hand, the climate lends itself very well to outrageously high yields, which is why it's often what "california chablis" and "california sparkling white wine" is made from. Shit grows like a weed, and unless some very high end viticulture techniques are used, it often tastes like ass. That's not to say there isn't "fine" cali chards, but it takes some work. Too hot in most of the state for good chard...ripens too quickly.

And U&L chard doesn't taste much better...but at least it's considerably more expensive to produce.

Just say "no" to fag wines.

Indeed. And much like many pinots and burgundies, the bottles often have rather sizeable punts which are perfect for reversing on women that are unusually...spacious. But I don't drink the stuff. I do, however, want to ensure that Zy isn't forced to suffer swill such as a mere Cakebread for $50 bones when the Montrachet Lafon can be had for under 2K. After all, it's only money.

Rack Moorese for balancing the arts of banging chicks while they throw up and knowing his wine. Marcassin kicks much ass, had a 1999 pinot of theirs in Napa five months ago. Killah.

Zy, the Cakebread will go over well. If you like over-the-top wine that's really extracted, Rombauer's chardonnay is the ticket.

“Hey, baby, you wanna marry a pretentious, loud-mouthed midget?”

Whatever you decide on, you better buy a case of it.

How long have you known this girl, Zy? Haven't heard about her before and now you're popping the question.

What kind of a girl is she? High-falutin' sophisto or party down? She be able to recognize nice wine? Where are you popping the question?

Well, if he's one of those "old-fashioned" guys who drops to one knee to propose, then I'd say somewhere around her ankle.

Ive known her for 25 years. It kinda came up out of the blue, I wasnt looking at all but things have evolved to the point that were on.

She's a real down to earth sweetheart. She wants to be a home maker which I cant complain about. Im debating I have 3 reservations set for sat but im leaning on doing it at Mr K's in DC(5 star chinese place on k street) and having her family show up right before I pop the Q.

did you ask her "old man" for her hand ??
My younger daughter's husband of 3 years
now actually did that and it really set me back
a bit that he had the courtesy of asking--like
the really old days !!
anyway--
good luck to you if it all works out your way.
