bracelet...

discuss...

dude seems to have brought his A game...he has had a great series so far...I have always liked him even though he plays more weak/tight than I would ever play. but damn if he can't read people...

if the kharma continues he may just take down the Main Event...

Fuck Phil.

If he gets any decent cards he's unbeatable, like you said a great reader of his opponents. I just think the whole brat thing is wearing thin. Dude bitches when he gets out-drawn. Who cares if your leading pre-flop. When they invent a 2-card poker game he'll truly be the man.

I'll take Negranu (sp?)

^^^^^^^^^

hey I am not a big fan of the brat stuff and yelling about bad beats all the time does get old

but he does read people well and does get away from hands that he knows he is beaten on...

the ME is anyone's ballgame but Hellmuth seems to have brought his A game...he is playing well, as well as getting cards. You need both more or less to win these big tourneys...

we had a thread started about 5 guys you would want in the ME...we might have to sticky it...

I think the best at reading is Juanda. Dude always seems to know what the other guy has. Makes some sick laydowns that I could never do.....

Phil is an ass but a good player.....

I often wonder how the fuck they do that? I mean alot of these guys can put on exact hands. I don't get it. I don't try it either. I play my cards vs. what could beat me. If the odds are favorable, I'll play.

They aren't always right, but I think it's smart to call out hands. You may or may not be right, but you'll usually be in the ballpark and it makes people aware you're paying attention. And when you do hit it exactly right, it freaks people out. I was playing at Bellagio and raised the pot with AK suited, got two callers and the flop came 6,8,A......I bet and was called, turn came nine, I bet and was raised significantly. As I folded I said "set of 6's eh?".....the guy was sitting next to me and looked at me like I was Rain Man as he threw his 6's face up into muck. I wasn't sure what he had but I made an educated guess and happened to step in shit. It was fun and he really thought I could read hands..too funny. The point is, even if I had called the wrong hand, he'd know I'm thinking about it and not just blindly betting/calling/raising, it gives people a reason to respect you at the table. And that usually helps your cause.

Works great...on paper.

You start playing with really good players, especially in tourney-style with increasing blinds, and the badasses will bluff you off the table like nobody's business.

phil has been super lucky

he was a 9-1 dog with several hands and drew out to win. he got outplayed by the kid earlier in tourney. oh yeah, his buddys were chanting, " Phils on tilt".

he's been drawing out on people, his luck will run out in the main, where tards will call with gutshots and hit them on phil.

he's a great player, but fuck him.

All his bracelets are in Hold'Em. They might even all be in No-Limit. Not nearly as impressive as Chan's 10 bracelets.
