Homer Fantasy League ... POST YOUR ROSTERS

Post by orcinus »

While we skipped this league last year, it might be fun with a few more folks from different teams. There is a maximum of 20 teams in the league, so it should be pretty easy to fill with the teams represented here.

The rules are simple ...

Your fantasy team consists of only players from your NFL team on both sides of the ball.

1 x QB
1 x RB
2 x WR
1 x TE
1 x K

2 x D
2 x DL
2 x DB

Once you get your initial roster, you simply need to check in weekly to make any minor adjustments to your roster due to injury, substitutions or hot players on the defensive side of the ball.

Sign up below with your preferred team, and I'll PM the league ID and password.

I asked around about this FF scenario last year. Seems like an interesting angle.
In.

btw- would it be bad form for members of a fan coalition to be co-owners etc?

Multiple owners is fine, although only one of you will be able to get to the yahoo site.

You up for the Redskins' proxy, velo?

We can post the weekly matchups and results here so everyone can keep up.

BB, depending on how yahoo is set up this year, I'd prefer to just let everyone fill their own rosters. I did everything manually one year and it was an incredible pain in the ass.

Yep!

Yeah, that part is the main reason for the query. Just so folks could see what's going on, since ownership wouldn't involve all kinds of moves etc. Rack you maximum for setting this up.

Actually, we do have a couple 'tardinals fans.

Dio is one of them, and I forget the other.

If nobody steps up to claim them as their own, you've got 'em, Steve.

If they come in that's cool, there's got to be a left over team. Shits and giggles.

No Niners fans representing? Guess I'll play then.

Not that I can possibly do all that much worse than the Niners will do on the field this year.

My Detroit Lions (intial) roster...
QB: Jon Kitna
RB: Kevin Jones
WR: Roy Williams
WR: Corey Bradford
TE: Marcus Pollard
K: Jason Hanson

D: Kalimba Edwards
D: Ernie Sims
DL: Shaun Rogers
DL: James Hall
DB: Dre' Bly
DB: Kenoy Kennedy

That second WR spot is still up for grabs...gotta see how the guys do in the preseason and who stays healthy and who stays on the team. Rogers and Mike Williams don't have guaranteed spots. We get return points so I might actually start Drummond.

Another thing will be linebacker...the leading tackler from the last few years, Earl Holmes, is no longer there. Will Sims be able to step right in take his place? Are Lehman or Bailey able to stay healthy?

This lineup is just my picks to start but it will probably change after watching the preseason games and seeing which guys don't get hurt. With the way things have gone for the Lions in recent years, my lineup will change quite often.

Sorry guys for not explaining this better ... the whole point of a homer league is to back your own team. Nothing personal, but we're looking for actual fans to set the lineups.

If yours is already taken, you'll be able to follow along in here and owners are encouraged to collaborate on lineup suggestions with the rest of the collective.

While the league has spots open for 20 teams, I'm not opposed to limiting that number if it means we have a full league of actual fans.

Not a whole lot of bode to be won or lost by jocking someone else's players in this.

Terry is a 9er fan.

Not that its a foregone conclusion or anything but... here's hoping Tiny doesn't wise up to this contest anytime soon.

The lineups are just so I can get the initial rosters filled up (need your six bench spots, too).

Once those have been set, you're free to add/drop to your heart's content, as long as those players are from your respective NFL teams.

Again, rosters are simply a housekeeping issue for the league and necessary to complete our draft.
