CSNY concert...fucking awesome..

We went to the CSNY show in Vancouver at the Clark County Amplitheater last night.
Great venue...gentle breeze blowing...the oh so sweet smell of cannibis floating on the wind. The setting sun behind Washingtons great trees and some of the best music I have ever heard.
CSNY came on and played from 7:30 to 9: 15, took a 40 minute break and played again until 11 pm.
Very anit war theme, but very supportive of the troops. Neil was wearing a Vietnam area fatigue shirt, a boonie hat and paid tribute to the troops multiple times.
They played over 35 songs, and it was a great set list. Each did several solo things, and they did collectively about 8 acoustial numbers, and 2 acapella numbers also. Neil and Stephen pounded their rigs so hard they were breaking strings all night.
They ran a collage of every solider KIA, had a family come out and tie a yellow ribbon on a huge michrophone that was to symbolize the voice of the pepole. Neil reached up and grabbed the yellow ribbion and kissed it as they walked off stage the last time. This was backed by a recording of the Star Spangled Banner by Jimmy.
Their music from the new album just fucking lampooned Bush hard, but no spoken statements were made. Everything was said in the music.
The last set ended with Ohio, a 13 minute version of Rockin in the Free World and the encore was a subdued version of Stardust.
Unrack $ 7 12 ounce beers. Fucking insane, but their was plenty of drunk people. 2 - 65+ guys holding each other up staggering in the parking lot.
Un rack 1. 75 MOTHER FUCKING HOURS to get from parking lot to I - 5. I will never , never go back to the venue again.
Rack the 68 year old Vietnam vet rolling and passing some great bud.
Take this show if you get a chance, you will not be disapointed. Worth EVERY penny of the $ 75 seats I paid, even with the fucked up wait in parking.

I went to see CSN in
1983 at Colt State Park, RI.
They forgot their lyrics and did a lot of LaLaLa...
Even to "OUR HOUSE"!!!
Good thing the crowd knew every song word by word..
The crowd carried them through it all.
I could not imagine paying big $$$ to see a band 40 years past their prime!!

Nothing says cool like a bunch of irresponsible 40 to 60 year olds acting like they were 20 again, right?
"Look at me! I'm smoking pot and I'm 40! How cool am I? I'm a great role model for my kids! I'm protesting the war. This must've been what it was like in the 60's. Rack Me!"
Too bad Arby's doesn't drug test their employees. That way you'd be out of a job and looking like a hero to your entire family. Bummer really.
What next Derron? Are you going to return from your weekend softball game and wax poetic about it in Al Bundy-esque fashion as if you were reliving your glory days from high school? Wait, I forgot who I was talking about here. I'm supremely confident that you've never had a glory second let alone days.
I'm not hating on CSNY. They'd be great if they dropped the CSN part.

Fu, you seem like you'd be a real blast to hang out with.
How the fuck can you label anyone "irresponsible" because they're having a good time at a concert? Blanket statements much? Just because you get worked up over shopping carts in parking lots, and grass clippings scattered over asphalt, doesn't mean everyone else has to be as uptight as you.

I could not imagine paying big $$$ to see a band 40 years past their prime!!
Bwwaaahaaaaa.....your a fucking music critic now ??
Check this out dude.....I saw CSNY sometime in the early 70's.....they were good then.....
and here is a novel idea that has been proven time and time again...good musicians tend to get MUCH better has they age and perfect and expand their styles...with a few drug induced exceptions....
CSNY is certainley in that group of being better musicians now than they were 40 years ago.....Let's list a few that by your terms are "washed up"
CSNY, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, BB King, Steve Miller, Lynryd Skynyrd*, George Strait, George Jones,
* granted only 2 surviving members.
"Look at me! I'm smoking pot and I'm 40! How cool am I? I'm a great role model for my kids! I'm protesting the war. This must've been what it was like in the 60's. Rack Me!"
All Hail Jesus Christ and God Almighty Rack Fu.
He has been annoitned by virtue of his position as a federal goverment sucking leech law enforcement person to pass Judgement on all members of society and in particular semi public members of internet message / flame boards.
First off Jesus, I am way past 40 and I was there in the 60's and early 70's. Been there and done that. I was not down with war protests, as the mood then was against the troops instead of your imbicle employers.
Shame on Derron who takes a couple of hits of a bowl with a 68 yo DISABLED Vietnam vet, thanks him for his service and watches this veteran cry as "Ohio" is played. Fuck you Rack Fu. (in rhyme of course)
Let's just take all the pot smokers and concert goers and paint the yellow star on their foreheads and gas them....
Oh and Herr Fu, 2 hits in 6 years is not being a doper
Too bad Arby's doesn't drug test their employees. That way you'd be out of a job and looking like a hero to your entire family. Bummer really.
Ohh... myyyy... the proverbial fast food employment blast.....such a cutting edge take... want to compare paychecks G man leech ?? I make more in 4 months than you do in a fucking year of writing bank robbery affidavits.
Wait, I forgot who I was talking about here. I'm supremely confident that you've never had a glory second let alone days.
I can see you working here bitterman....you have been a G man so long, that you realize you will never make Assistant SAC, or even jock holder to the SAC, so you got to start banging on every one who does not meet your profile of the perfect individual and citizen. Seig Heil Herr Fu. Unlike you, I live for today and tommorrow since yesterday is long gone.
How the fuck can you label anyone "irresponsible" because they're having a good time at a concert?
Let's postulae here a minute... and postulate means think about for you morons.....
I have the utmost respect for ALL law enforcement people. One of my sons has chosen that has a career. But the one thing I have noticed is that as cops age, they tend to become very narrow minded, very judgemental and very self centered. Not all mind you... I know many cops both active and retired who are normal people....so I think we can safely say that Rack Fu is close to being a jaded Federal goverment employee to has the requisite goverment employee view of "FUCK THE PEOPLE" any way you can.
I will pray to our new Diety "Rack Fu" for your soul MgoBlue-- because Herr Jesus Rack Fu is certain to pronounce judgement on you and sentence you to enternity in hell next to every one else who fails His Judgement.

~ring ring~
Fu: Hello?
Fu's pal: Hey bro, what's going on?
Fu: Not much. I'm just getting ready for bed.
Fu's pal: But...uhhh...bro, it's 8:30 on a Friday night?
Fu: I know, but I've got to get my rest for a real busy day tomorrow.
Fu's pal: Whattya got goin' on?
Fu: Well, I've got some serious grocery shopping to do...if I skip out on that the OL will really give me hell! I'm trying to get back on her good side, because I'm really tired of being the catcher. Man, that shit gets sore. Anyhoo, I've also got a long afternoon of sitting on my porch, sipping O'Doul's, and keeping an eye on the neighborhood kids. I've got my $54,000 SUV parked out in the street just to see if any of those little bastards will mess with it. Then I'm conducting a neighborhood meeting to discuss all the grass clippings everyone has been leaving out in the streets. Not only does it make our little community here look less desirable, but the clippings are causing wear and tear to my vehicle. Not by driving through them, but by having to dodge them at the last second by making hard turns as if I was about to hit a baby in a stroller. After that, the OL and I are going to snuggle up and watch Pirates of the Caribbean or maybe even Shrek 2.
Fu's pal: Ahhh, gotcha. Well, I was just wondering if you wanted to come over, watch the game and throw down a few beers.
Fu: Beers? As in with real alcohol? Bro, that stuff will turn you into the devil. I'm telling you, man, first beer...then raping babies. It's inevitable. Get your fucking life together, you irresponsible piece of shit! What's next? Are you going to ask me if I want to go to the strip club? Geez man, look at the example you're setting for MY kids!
Fu's pal: Uhhhh, gotta go. Later.

You gotta love old Van Halen...
-It just dawned on me after watching that live "Dance The Night Away" video that Eddie and Michael were actually much better singers than DLR! Listening to DLR there I was just struck wondering, what made that guy ever think to take up singing?
Worked out okay for 'im anyway though...
-"Hot For Teacher" has one of Eddie's best solos ever. Damn that's a nice one. That's a perfect Eddie solo.
-At the end of the "Hot For Teacher" video they do the little postscripts, where they show how each kid in the band ended up later in life.
Unfortunately, they nailed Eddie's future.

Ed just isn't inspired. That pron crap is in genre and he did it on a movie called Back to the Future. I remember playing something Eddie did that was never on a record, and people thought it was cool.

Fu's pal: Hey bro, what's going on?
I call bullshit.
You are assuming the Rack Fu has a pal / homie/ buddy / friend that would call him to hang out and throw a couple of brews with....
he has probably already downed to hell any pals he may have had for drinking a beer, banging a unmarried woman...getting tanked a G man meeting...etc...
Ring...ring..
Fu's non existent pal:Hello ??
Fu: Yo bro... lets go stake out that dude who's blowing grass clipping's on the street ... we can drink some OJ because coffee has caffine in it... and we can bust that mother fucker the minute he blows clippings on the street...I researched it bro..... it is a federal crime to do that....
Fu's non existent pal: Un... I'll pass dude.... I just am sitting down to watch this game and I just popped a beer....
Fu: Damn you to hell.... you fell to the dark side... you better watch your ass bucko... I will start an internal investigation of you....
Fu's non existent pal: Yeah what ever....Oh this would be a good time to tell you I am banging your old lady dude.....

Soul and exceedingly high expertise are not mutually exclusive. In fact, it takes tons of the former to achieve even a modicum of the latter.
If you don't hear soul in "For The Love Of God" or "The Bells Of Lal, Part II" then you're simply trying not to hear it.

All Hail Jesus Christ and God Almighty Rack Fu.
He has been annoitned by virtue of his position as a federal goverment sucking leech law enforcement person to pass Judgement on all members of society and in particular semi public members of internet message / flame boards.
What does my job have to do with anything? I would've said the same shit regardless. I just think it's incredibly irresponsible, juvenile and pathetic when folks older than college age get all geeked up about having a few bong hits and beers. The illegality of it all plays no part in my comments.
First off Jesus, I am way past 40 and I was there in the 60's and early 70's. Been there and done that. I was not down with war protests, as the mood then was against the troops instead of your imbicle employers.
Well then... being way past 40 really helps your cause. You keep rising on the pathetic scale. Imbecile - know how to spell it before using it. Nothing worse than kicking your own ass when trying to put someone else down. Just a PSA for you.
Shame on Derron who takes a couple of hits of a bowl with a 68 yo DISABLED Vietnam vet, thanks him for his service and watches this veteran cry as "Ohio" is played. Fuck you Rack Fu. (in rhyme of course)
The fact that you toked up with a disabled 'Nam vet means what exactly? You're making it sound like you deserve the Presidential Medal of Freedom for it. I'm sure doing more drugs was just what this guy needed. Of the 1000 things you could've done for the guy, this is what you're proud of. Congrats, I guess.
Let's just take all the pot smokers and concert goers and paint the yellow star on their foreheads and gas them....
Depends on the concert goers. Kids doing this at the Vans Warped Tour is one thing. They're young and stupid. They have a lifetime to remove their heads from their asses. A bunch of Wish-It-Were-The-60's hippie hanger-ons? Gas might be going a bit too far. Ever seen the movie Hostel?
Ohh... myyyy... the proverbial fast food employment blast.....such a cutting edge take... want to compare paychecks G man leech ?? I make more in 4 months than you do in a fucking year of writing bank robbery affidavits.
You're saying that you make 3x what an Agent makes? That would put you between $200K to $400K? Which is about 10 times more than a person of your capabilities should make. Props to you for getting over.
I'll let you in on a little secret: the best job in the Bureau is being a field agent. Supervisors, ASACs and SACs ride a desk full-time. They don't interview people, they don't arrest people, they might be on the scene during operations but they're not the operators. If I wanted to ride a desk, review paperwork and deal with administrative bullshit all day, I would've stayed in the private sector and made more money.
I have the utmost respect for ALL law enforcement people. One of my sons has chosen that has a career. But the one thing I have noticed is that as cops age, they tend to become very narrow minded, very judgemental and very self centered. Not all mind you... I will pray to our new Diety "Rack Fu" for your soul MgoBlue-- because Herr Jesus Rack Fu is certain to pronounce judgement on you and sentence you to enternity in hell next to every one else who fails His Judgement.

Those would be behaviors they choose. I myself find it very boring when people as yourself wax on about how "pathetic" it is, and then pass judgement on thos people for a chosen behavior because "you" think it is wrong.

Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
Sixty four
and there's not much more
Live alone in a paradise
That makes me think of two.
Love lost, such a cost,
Give me things
that don't get lost.
Like a coin that won't get tossed
Rolling home to you.
Old man take a look at my life
I'm a lot like you
I need someone to love me
the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes
and you can tell that's true.
Lullabies, look in your eyes,
Run around the same old town.
Doesn't mean that much to me
To mean that much to you.
I've been first and last
Look at how the time goes past.
But I'm all alone at last.
Rolling home to you.
Old man take a look at my life
I'm a lot like you
I need someone to love me
the whole day through
Ah, one look in my eyes
and you can tell that's true.
Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,

:bigshocker: Fu is a complete fucking dork, eh?
Because we NEVER would have got that impression from his posts...NEVER.
And we've NEVER seen this scene play out before, have we?
Dork doesn't get invited to parties. Dork doesn't get to hang out with the "in crowd." Dork is the outsider looking in...
And now, Dork is compensating for it by spending way too much time and effort going after a job that puts him in a position of authority.
Nope, NEVER seen that before.
Which is the reason why he should judge the psychological shortcomings of others.
Not just a dork...a textbook dork.

To be perfectly fair, RushFan shouldn't be hurling insults like "dork" at anyone anytime soon, unless they want to slap themselves with a big ol' pile of irony. Don't get me wrong, there's certainly exceptions (sup me?) but the crowd at any given Rush show would make a Rack Fu family reunion look like a Hollywood party.

I took my girlfriend (now wife) to the Test for Echoes Tour in '97. She said she wanted to go, but she complained afterward.
As a general rule, though, the only women you see at Rush concerts are somebody's bored wife or girlfriend.

Throw some more stones, douche.
I'm not the one who has paid actual money to see Mr. Big, whether or not they were the opening band. Was Winger not available?

you really are that fucking stupid. you can't choose who opens up for the band you paid money to see. sometimes, REAL music fans want to see who opens up.
just go back and stroke your cock watching MMA or pride or whatever neanderthal garbage you get off on. i feel secure knowing that rack fu is watching out over me. don't you have some dope smokers to bust? or at least shopping carts within 20 yards of your overpriced rig?
