Good one.
"It is what it is" still takes the cake.

For a few years I had this grizzly Sgt. who liked to give roll calls before our shift. Many years before, he'd been in this gunfight with this guy a few feet from him and both of them ended up with about 4 bullets in themselves. Supposedly one ambulance got a flat tire, so they piled both of them in one ambulance. Stories I heard was that they had to pry the Sarge's hands from around the guys neck.
Anyhoots...Mace Flye was his name. Mace had this low voice and he didn't care who was in the room when he'd cuss. Numerous times he'd recant some chase we had the day before and say something like, "He was screwed like a tied up hound."
Others that come to mind:
"Ass like a dump-truck, face like a bastard cat."
"She dresses like a skank and smells like a bait box."
"I understand son, your dad had shit for brains too."
"The brass downtown wants me to clean up my language, so here we go. Good fucking morning, people."
Typically, if you looked at every face of people exiting the roll call room after one of Mace's roll-calls, they'd all have smiles on them. Several of them even had bastard cat faces.
