World Is Flat - worth a read?

With about a month to go in my vacation, I was toying with reading "The World Is Flat." School districts are forcing administrators to read it and do the "deep, meaningful analysis of implications for education" horseshit, so i figured I might give it a go. On the other hand, I'm afraid that Friedman's "revelations" will be nothing but a pile of boring-ass statistics and numbers that pretty much won't come as a surprise to anyone who's been reading papers/the 'net and paying attention to world events.
Anybody here checked it out?
