all he had to do was go to class, play ball, and bang hot chicks and he gets to the league after 3 years making phat bank...guess he thought he was bigger than the game and life...
good riddance...yeah I'll admit I was in his bandwagon his freshman year but who wouldn't be? Just about every team in america would have wanted him that year...well except Iowa since they have 9 first rounders on their roster at RB, but still dude had everything there...asshat...

not sure the Len Bias comparison is fair. JMO.
Clarrett is obviously a grade AAA moron. Bias made a mistake but was by all accounts a pretty good human being.

Bias at least played four seasons of college basketball.
If you want a basketball player for comparison, Lloyd Daniels is probably more apt, although it wouldn't surprise me if Clarett ultimately winds up like Bias.

The Len Bias comparison referred to having the whole world in his hands only to fuck it up (guess I could have said he Munsoned himself). Say what you want about Len Bias, but his tragic downfall was due to his own fucking self...just as Clarrett's is due to his own fucking self.
Bias rolled the dice with the coke; he crapped out. Sucks for him, but it was his own damn fault. I don't know why Bias is such the "darling" while people like Doc Gooden (who haven't cashed in their chips yet) are criticized. Same boat as far as I'm concerned.

I get where you're coming from now. Here's why I came up with the Lloyd Daniels comparison -- their college careers appear to be eerily similar.
One of the most infamous cases was the recruitment of Lloyd Daniels, a Brooklyn playground legend. A report by the Long Island Newsday said this alleged scholar was functionally illiterate, and had failed to get a high school degree from any of five high schools. (Tarkanian said Daniels was dyslexic, not illiterate.)
Somebody provided Daniels with a car, which was against NCAA rules; arrangements were made for him to live in Las Vegas rent-free. In what many considered an attempt to circumvent rules limiting the amount of contact coaching staff could spend grooming a prospect, assistant basketball coach Mark Warkentien became Daniels' legal guardian.
In early 1987 Daniels was caught buying cocaine from an undercover police officer. The buy was actually videotaped by a local television station covering the sting operation.
Despite his reputation as "the Father Flanagan of college basketball," Tarkanian then said there was such a thing as a boy too bad to play for UNLV, and Daniels was him.
Dr. Paul Burns, a retired UNLV history professor and administrator, was faculty athletics representative from 1985 to 1994, in charge of verifying the academic eligibility.
"It struck me as odd that he made some of his biggest mistakes when he was at the peak of his career, when he could have his pick of a lot of players," said Burns. "Recruiting Lloyd Daniels and letting Mark Warkentien become his legal guardian; those things are beyond the pale."

I still believe that if he gets himself cleaned up, he could go to NFL Europe and do scary things on the football field. But we'll probably never know, because NFL Europe is beneath someone with his talents, in his mind.
I heard on the radio today that Clarett had signed to play with an indoor football team beginning in January. This is several steps below the Arena Football League, not to mention NFL Europe. I think by now he has been significantly chastened, at least in terms of his on-field abilities, that he'd jump at the chance for NFL Europe.
Having said that, his legal woes are likely to keep him from getting the work visa he'd need to do that.

Munsoned himself? Dude RACK. I am a Celtic fan and ever since the Len Bias thing the Celtics went downhill, honestly though at this point I think it has less to do with Bias' death and Reggie Lewis too and more with managment, but that is an NBA issue.
Clarrett is fucking trash, he probably has not even hit bottom yet, not that I wish that upon him or want him to continue to be trash but when you hurt more people than you help it is time to reeavaluate your life.

That's a lot of shit for a 22 year old to carry around. Sure he made his bed, but he had a lot of help. Being told that "you're the man" from a young age can do more harm than good. This goes to show how much more grounded and mature LeBron is.
