Did you like Miller's Crossing? If yes, did you like it because you like it when Irish and Italians fight, or because of the crafty character of Tom weaving his way through the narrow spaces of a gang fight? If it is the latter, you will love Brick. Its like Miller's Crossing, except the setting is a suburban high school.

It reminded me a little of Romeo + Juliet, in the sense that it takes a well-known genre and transposes it onto modern day high school life. 90% of the dialogue could've been directly lifted from 40s film noir. It's executed a lot better than R + J, though. I'm looking forward to this guy's future work.
