not an endorsement by any means, but some interesting stuff (at least until games start):

while i don't see the line of thinking too outrageous at all, OU 27 UAB 13--is gonna raise the dander on some OU homer boards.

Utah-UCLA should be an interesting game, insofar as at least one major mag (prolly huffing paint thinner under the innerstate bridge) picked Utah into the BCS.

a couple Big XII comments: did KU score 36 points all last year? no love for the "new, improved" Baylor. and a Chuck Long "W" in his debut.....

Along with no serious injuries, I'll take it.

In Knoxville? Yeah, right.

Err, I mean ... The start of our national championship run. Rack that prediction!

I hate to say it, but as shitty as Tennessee was last year, I don't think that the Cal 26 - Tenn 23 is that bad a prediction.

Maybe if they were playing in California ... maybe.

I'll be interested to see what the Vegas odds are once we get closer to the game. In any event, I'm taking UT unless they are favored by more than 10.

I'd take it. A W is a W, and you're bound to have at least one ugly one in any year. But this would cause a meltdown among ND's fanbase, or at least the small but vocal minority who post on ND homer boards.

If ND wins its first four games by a combined total of four points, that should make any Irish fan happy.

Wurd. If they do that, the chances of walking into Compton in November undefeated are very good.

That having been said, I would be a little concerned if ND only scored 27 against GaTech. Yes, their DC is very good and loves to bring pressure to try and confuse QB's, but he doesn't have the DB's to bring too much pressure. Kenny Scott is a nice player who could possibly keep McKnight or Samardzija somewhat in check, but the other one will have a field day against single coverage and little safety help.

If ND contains Choice and doesn't let Ball run, this could be similar to the Pitt game last year.

I take back my original post, Miami/FSU will be worth watching.

I gotta disagree about Utah. They should be dangerous this year and with the extra BCS-game the chances of a non-BCS school sneaking in have gotten considerably better. From what I understand if they can make it into the top12 they have an excellent shot at getting-in to a major bowl.

Georgia Tech is no pushover. ND should be happy with a win.

The OU prediction doesn't surprise me. They will win games this year but in a workmanlike, not gawdy, way.

Damn, it doesn't look like it's being televised on any of the national networks.

Actually, they're guaranteed a BCS bowl with a Top 12 finish. They're also guaranteed a BCS bowl with a 13-16 finish if one of the teams with an automatic bid finishes lower than they do.

Agreed, although there's a small but vocal segment of ND's fanbase who probably thinks that this should be as easy a win as the Navy game probably will be.
