In another thread I wrote:Aaron Brooks is not a pre season QB. He need a whole game to show off his mad skills. He need at least a half to fuck up things and fall behind by three touchdowns. THAT is when he kicks in the overdrive! He then proceeds to throw for 300 yards and multiple TD's bringing his team back to within a few points, only to fumble a snap away on the opponents 3 yard line as time expires.
Signed,
Saints fan ecstatic to see AB in a Raider uni.

Drummer nailed it with the O-line comment.
Gallery looks like a bust-hate to use that word, but how long is this fucking guy going to need to "fullfill" his potential-especially being back at his "natural" position?
McQ looked very good for a rookie, but I think we might need to drag Big Linc and Art Shell out of retirement to get some kind of fucking push out of our line.
On the flip side-our ST's and defense look absolutely great-they are fast as hell, hard hitting, and smart.
Too bad our O is just the opposite right now.

Herman Edwards will do for the Chefs what he did for the Jets: make them just good enough to be last in the division every year.drummer wrote:From what I saw of the Chiefs , is it really gonna matter who is Oakland's QB ?

Raiders would sweep them even with Janikowski at QB.
Let the meltdowns begin...

He's in a new system with an new cast and a revamped O-line. Give all these guys some time to play together. I'm not going to go so far as to argue with Saintsfan about how good/bad Brooks is. But the amount I have seen him play plus some circumstantial evidence says to me that last nite's awfulness was not vintage Brooks. Hell, even in TTB's pointed criticism there is the admission that #2 can get things done on the field.
Too soon to call this offense a bust, qb inclusive.
If the Seattle or New England O's sucked out loud like that, then there should be some talk.

How many times did the Jets make the playoffs while Herman was the coach, Fatfuck?
Just get yourself ready to be the Raiders bitch. Shouldn't be too hard, considering all the experience at it you've got

Raiders: Offense reeling
The News
With the Raiders offense playing poorly for the second time in only two preseason games, rumors are beginning to swirl in Oakland. Aaron Brooks has completed only two passes (one in each game) and has looked lost during both of his appearances. ESPN.com's Adam Schefter is reporting that the quarterback position isn't the only position in question in Oakland, but that some around the league believe the Raiders are running an archaic offense. There are questions about whether offensive coordinator Tom Walsh, who had been out of football running a bed and breakfast since 1994, is qualified to run Oakland's offense. The Raiders think yes; others around the league are a lot more skeptical.
Our View
The Raiders have looked as bad as an NFL team can look on offense this preseason. Lamont Jordan has not ran the ball with authority, Randy Moss is already throwing tantrums on the sidelines, Aaron Brooks is playing like a high-schooler, and the team seems completely lost on both sides of the ball. The Art Shell experiment may end up being a huge embarrassment for Al Davis, and could eventually help facilitate Al's hiring of a general manager. All of that speculation aside, we are becoming more and more down on all Raiders for the upcoming fantasy season.

I can see that press conference...
Al: I'd like to introduce the Raydahs new General Managa, Mr. Al Davis.
Al: The greatness of the Raiders, Pride and Poise, Vertical Game,Raider Mystique.
Seriously my money is on Jim Otto being named GM>

Sigh......
So many arguments I could use here.
Brooks has done nothing, absolutely nothing to justify him being the starter week 1. Not only that but he has allegedly managed to annoy his best player on offense and most definately has annoyed the Oakland fan base not only with his piss poor play but his attitude and body language.
Andrew Walter made some nice throws but he also made several bad ones. He also made a ton of mistakes. I don't think he is ready to be our starter.
With a highly suspect line in front of him whatever QB starts could be in for a long season.
I'm still holding out hope that the line play improves but I've been saying that for three preseasons now. Extreme frustration is setting in at this point.
Christ guys I'm looking at the teams in our division and trying to argue with myself why we are better than any of them.......
It's a real tough argument right about now.
Offensively this team looks like ass, they will stay the course but is there really a choice?
If we are gonna have yet another long season my feeling is that we might as well develop a young QB.
Play Walter.
And pray he develops into something special down the road.

Don't ever suspect that I am 'ducking' a topic.
Won't happen.
Long story short, velo nailed it.
New qb, shuffled line, new head coach, new o-coordinator .....
I'm not surprised at ALL that the offense is struggling.
Art has said repeatedly that starting QB is an open competition.
Is Brooks 'winning' the yob at this point ... ?
Hmmmmmm.................
Those commenting that the entire TEAM looks lost are wrong.
The speedy young defense has done well, as have the special teams.
3 more practice games to right a lot of offensive wrongs.
I think RJ mentioned it in another thread. Tom Walsh has to put players in position to make plays. I have a feeling he won't be very good at that. It doesn't matter who the QB or WR is for the Raiders. The O-Coordinator is like an Atari trying to compete against a Xbox 360. While the Atari was great in its day it is now out dated.
Then again it's just preseason. The 3rd game is usually the only one worth taking any kind of stock in. If I was Raider fan I'd still take the wait and see approach. However, my gut would be telling me otherwise.

Wasn't Herm "traded" to KC for a 4th round draft pick or something like that? I don't believe he was "canned." He wanted out for the KC job.Cuda wrote:BSmack wrote:3 out of 5 years you fucking retard.Cuda wrote:How many times did the Jets make the playoffs while Herman was the coach, Fatfuck?Cuda wrote:So... the jets canned his ass because he was so fucking good?

His contract was going to be up AFTER this year, right?
In any case, if NY really thought he was worthless, they would have granted his release as soon as he asked for it. The fact they wanted something out of it, even a 4th round pick, means they thought something of him. Otherwise, if they thought he was so shitty, why not release him to a conference competitor?
Anyways, he got dealt a shitty hand in NY with Pennington and his injuries. I really can't judge the guy on his tenure in NY. He has a lot of tools in KC, on offense at least. I will reserve judgement on the guy until after a couple years in KC. The SB Rams team had a shitty defense too (as does KC) but they were able to outscore their opponents. KC should be able to as well.

I believe his contract was up at the end of last season, but they still retained the legal option of offering him a new contract, even though they had no intention of doing so- thus compensation was owed to the jets when the chefs signed him
Not even the dumbest fucking NFL GM is going to turn down a free draft pick- even if it's for a torn jock-strap.

And that's the comeback it took you 3 fucking days to come up with, HyMoronic? Did it take you that long to find some NFL board somewhere that nobody from here posted on so you wouldn't get caught pulling a ctrl-RuPaul?
That doesn't do a fucking thing to prove that he's anything other than a fucking loser as a coach. In fact, it only shows what a fucking loser he is as a coach if the dog-ass jets would not only allow someone STILL UNDER FUCKING CONTRACT with them to go coach another team in the AFC. They were only too happy to be rid of him; the draft choice was just gravy.

I don’t read this forum every day, Cooter, this was the first chance I had to remind you of what a dumbfuck you are in this thread. I found that info with a neat little tool called “google”. I was sure he had at least one year left on his contract because otherwise the Jets would have gotten nada.
BTW, a number of Jets players and fans felt that they didn’t get enough in exchange for Edwards, but apparently Herm had worn out his welcome with ownership and that’s why they let him go.

Those eager to toss dirt on Oakland before they're even out of pre-season may need to re-think things.
From the sounds of it they (and the 1st teamers in particular) delivered an overall BEATDOWN to SF today.
Yeah, yeah, only the '9ers .... only pre-season.
I DO hear ya.
Still a good effort by the Silver & Black.
Brooks and Walter both did well.
The defense continues to play well.
I hear Huff left with a 'sprained ankle' though.
Fingers crossed on that.
If anyone saw the game I'd like to hear about how the O-line looked.
3-0, bitches. ;)
