Ok, so I got an AVI video that is huge. 17 seconds of my boy walking for the first time but it is 68 MB. How can I get this smaller and reduced in size? I have Nero and windows Media PLayer.

I do transcoding of AVI to AVI with Virtualdub.
It's free and it works.
I can give you a step-by-step of the settings you can enter if need be.

Thanks. I've played with it a little and it looks like this will work.
Actually, I was able to use the compression to make a lesser quality video. Is there a way to resize it using virtualdub without losing quality of video?

Shit, I don't know. I don't knwo much about video editing.
I went home over lunch and figured it out though. I got the file down to 3 megs withsound, 1 meg without sound. That's small enough to emailto friends and family.
Rack my little guy. Walking at 10 months, only 1 month later than his daddy did.

That's pretty good compression. I don't know if you can do better than that.
