Shoulda just posted this in the season over thread.
I want Garner gone. I want Purpora gone. Astros ended up with the 3rd highest payroll behind the Yanks and Sox. They are shit. Why we did not resign Beltran is beyond me. Why did we not go all in with that guy?

Because we wouldn't give him a no-trade clause. The same thing that will happen when we sit down at the table with Roy. And he will leave also.
It's been a good run. Time to clean house and start over with Berkman, Scott, Taveras, and Pence.
I didn't like it when Garner was hired, and I hate it even more now. I wanted Don Baylor or Art Howe. We ended up with a nicer, more media friendly version of Jimy "50 diff. Lineups" Williams.
All we will have to celebrate next year is Bidge getting #3000.

Well, I don;t know the terms of our current contract with Berk, but if I were him, I'd be on the first train outa Houston as soon as someone gave me a ticket.
We've been good for awhile, not great, but good. I don't care to see a rebuilding process. Houston has the fan support and $ to stay strong.
And yeah, next year will be all about Biggio. He really is a shell of his former self, but he has replaced Bags as my all time favorite player just for the fact that I'm convinced Bags is a roider. Biggio needs 3000 to get into the HoF with the way ESPN tries to control who gets in and who doesn't.
Dammit...Frisco...don't get on the ESPN rant you've been dying to get on. The wine is kicking in. I'm not going to fall for it tonight. Maybe someday I'll rip them a new one. Not tonight.

Biggio is in now if he breaks his toenail tomorrow.
Bagwell, who knows.
Neither one of them were near the hitter Berkman is. But of course, the Stros waited too long to get Berkman out of the minors (Sup Luke Scott), so Berk's career numbers may not end up in Cooperstown-land.

My comments on Berk and his contract were more about the fact Houston won't be competitive much longer, if at all. He would be much more servicable on a contending team.
I'm not sure about Biggio being in tomorrow no matter what. In my mind, he is. However, I'm a Stros fan.
I'd like to see others thoughts as to whethrer Biggio is HoFer at this point.
Hell, I will start a new thread with a poll on this. I would really like to know.
