Counting down the days...


I'm biased, but there is nothing like Saturday afternoon in Neyland Stadium. Notre Dame is historic......Michigan is big......LSU is intimidating......USC is flashy......Texas A&M is synchronized.....but Tennessee mixes all of these so well. I can't wait.....only 11 more get ups until "It's Football Time in Tennessee" and everywhere else for that matter.

Just wait until they jackhammer Kal into the North American Plate. They'll be happy then..

I missed the part where SI claims Vol fans are the "best in the country."

Nevertheless, I'd love to see a game in that stadium ... preferrably Florida. What a freaking atmosphere. I've read about where the party starts the night before, especially if you're lucky enough to have or have access to, a boat on the river next to the stadium.


I can't wait for that Sept. 2 game, either. Looks to be the best matchup of Week 1, at least on paper. Historically, Tenn has absolutely crushed non-conference teams in that place in pre-Fla. games. Last year, UAB gave them all they could handle, though. Should be a interesting game.

Any team's fans would rate higher than Kal's.

Is there a stadium in the Pac Ten outside of Autzen that's interesting to see a game at? None of those other atmospheres have ever looked too exciting to me.

Is USC selling out yet...now that they're good again?

Yeah. I imagine it was. I left them out since they've dropped so far off the charts in recent years.

I imagine Sun Devil Stadium would be a semi-deece place to see a game too, every 5 or 6 years or so, when they manage to field a slightly-above-mediocre squad.

Fuck, who am I kidding. I love CF - I'd see a game at any of those P10 stadiums. Apple Cup? In. Civil War? In. Cal-Stanford? You betcha.

Just trying to keep the "smack" flowing until Sept 2. Next week Monday will be the longest week ever.

Never been to Fusky Stadium(been by it a buhzillion times). I have heard the hrror stories of the wind kicking up off the lake, and really putting a damper on the fun.

But after the game, you're in an urban surrounding that's conducive to some really over-the-top, unsavory post-game activities, so it's got that going for it.


Oh, and let's not forget -- Fusky fans still treat everyone with thweir great addition to sports culture -- The Wave. You know you're in football nirvana when they break out the wave. Hell, they do that shit at Seahawk games, too. I of course, stand up when I see the Wave coming, and sit down when my turn rolls around...the "inverted wave." And I make certain to always spill beer on the bystanders during any and all Waves...I think it's a Duckfan tradition or something...or it at least should be.


And way back when, at Beavs home games, no one involved in security or any other aspect of the stadium would ever do anything about excessive drinking. I mean, obviously being drunk plays a large part in CFB culture, but things would get just plain silly at Parker "back in the day"(when 2-9 was a GREAT year). Underaged students literally passed out in the stands, vomit everywhere...good times. Not a Beaver fan, but back in the 80's, those games were complete melees. About 10% of those in attendence ended up taking an asskicking...fucking rednecks. And that deal where they used to spit on opposing players and fans wearing non-Beaver gear...that was a real hoot.

Husky stadium is a pretty good venue, one of the loudest I've been to thanks to the steel construction. We lucked out and had good weather.

The fans were loyal, but appeared to be uninformed. More than one guy in the parking lot ran up to me and said "We're gonna take Carson Palmer's head off".

Carson graduated the previous year. :?

Maybe he just really hates the Bengals.

Because taking 5 south after a game, one sees some...let's say questionable driving, some of it reaching all the way to Portland.

There have been a few college games played here of note.....and when a high profile team comes to play, the stadium can get up to 3/4 full......

I"ve been to Neyland....the place is out of this world. If you go, you have to hit Calhouns by the river and get the ribs. Best ribs I've ever had. The Vol Navy should be in full force because it's early in the season. You'll hear nothing but Rocy Top for 3 days. Hell I've still got the song in my head. The people there are great. Make sure you see the Vol walk and get into the stadium for the splitting of the "T". You won't be able to hear yourself think.
