Gas down to 2.66 right before Labor Day = bullshit

Price of gas dropping an average of 4 cents a day right before Labor Day? Somebody give me that supply side economics lecture and then tell me how record profits for the oil companies have no relevance in that discussion. I'm calling bullshit and it pisses me off how good I would feel if gas were 2.05 a gallon whereas two years ago I would have a fuggin coronary paying that much. I'm being conditioned to be the oil companies' bitch and I don't like it.

They just finally got things under control.
They now have a lot of product to sell and are anxiously awaiting the next reason to say they don't anymore.

Oil Company Exec out front shoulda told ya.

last summer it was 3 bucks. SUV sales went into the terlit. The earl pimps dropped it back to 2 bucks and the lemmings picked up their tahoe purchases without missing a beat. now they are crying again. Anyone out there driving anything getting less than 25 mpg while bitching about fuel prices needs to to just STFU. Those needing to drive big trucks are excepted from this statement.

I'm sure that an oilman being President has nothing to do with the last 5 years of market manipulation by oil companies.

But not quite as smooth --

Diego in Seattle wrote:Maybe they aren't profitable enough to do maintenance & avoid "accidents.".[/url]

Ditto on the "rolleyes."

That was no accident, regardless how the industry(that's operating on public lands, mind you) tries to spin it to the contrary.

One of my bestest friends built(obviously not by himself) part of that field. And he knows exactly when that shit was installed. I've worked in kinda-sorta related fields.

And there's no question that the America-Killers(oil industry) are working a scam. Piping has an expected service life. The Prudhoe Bay field's piping is beyond that point.

So, in as much as putting 100,000 miles on a car without changing the oil then having the engine sieze is an "accident," then sure. Then again, if you were responsible for changing the oil on the car, but also owned the car rental agency and the engine rebuilding shop...poor maintainence is a pretty profitable gig.

Wakey wakey, people. That was no "accident." It was quite intentional. That stuff gets tested all the time, yet here we are...hello?

I'm a free-market kind of guy for the most part, but when the government abandons its duty, and allows corporations to manipulate a market that is vital to the economy and security of this nation, even exploiting PUBLIC OWNED LANDS to do it...it's time for the fed to step in and put it right.

The investigation.....comes at a sensitive time for BP, as the company seeks to convince U.S. politicians and consumers that record profits are not coming at the expense of safety and maintenance investments in the aging Prudhoe Bay field, trans-Alaska pipeline and other major U.S. assets that include a refinery at Cherry Point in Whatcom County.
damn, these guys bring the funnay.......

Just so's you know...I weigh WAY less than you do, and I'm WAY taller than you.

It's quite possible that this may have something to do with why I've been able to have sex with a woman during this century.

Just a thought.

Just so you know I'm on a diet plan and exercise four days a week for 30 mins each and I too have had sex within the past century. Within the past four weeks to be accurate.

Here's a diet plan that WILL work. I don't understand how people are so ignorant about very basic nutrition that they're willing to buy books or let other people tell them what to eat. Ponderous.

Read the fucking labels on food.

I know, that's a pretty difficult concept, but it actually works.

Eat whatever you want, whenever you want -- it doesn't matter. People making millions off selling books don't want you to think so, but it's true.

Just make sure the foods you eat are low in fats. When I had to reduce fat intake(which had nothing to do with any need to lose weight), I used 20 grams of fat as a guideline, of which I tried to make no more than 5 grams of that saturated.

Carbs, starches, all that other shit...stay active and burn energy, and it don't fucking matter. Conversely, sedentary/inactive/couch potato people are going to get fat.

Do this, and you WILL lose weight. I'm not a nutritionist by any means, and these opinions are based upon common sense, personal experience, and observation, and should in no way shape or form be considered sound medical advice, or even factual.

But they WILL make you lose weight. Quickly and safely. And few people seem to acknowledge that the human body is capabl;e of digesting tremendous amounts of fat -- it just requires a tremendous amount of water to do so. Not diet soda, not anything else...WATER. Drink at least 8oz at least once an hour, and this too WILL help your weight loss.

I don't understand why people make it so complicated.

IndyFrisco wrote:Dins,

When the doc-types said "you need to avoid a lot of fats, or you're fucked," I didn't ask about specific numbers or anything. I just went scorched-earth up in the shit. Kept it between 15-20 grams a day. I probably went a little overboard, but better safe than sorry, I figured.

Sure, I weighed in at under 170(there were other issues there, granted), had about 0.1% body fat, and made Nicole Ritchie look obese, but kept it under 20g a day, for the most part. Otherwise, it gave to me the poo.

After that, I wear the ever-so-slight layer of padding over my abs like a badge of honor. I don't need no "six-pack" -- I'm quite happy with the "party-pack."

There's some negatives to it, but you can substitute "fluff" for a lot of fatty foods. Nonfat mayonaise(whipped cornstarch with a little vinegar for flavor), nonfat magarine(whipped cornstarch with a trace of vegetable oil for flavor), nonfat ice-milk for ice cream so on and so forth. Sure, that stuff doesn't taste NEARLY as good as what they're substituting for...but what's it worth? Want to be skinny(or in my case, healthy)? Want to be good-looking(or in my case, leave it at "skinny")?

What's it worth?

Eating turkey sammiches with mayo substitute and lots of rabbit food almost every day was below average, but...

What's it worth?

In my case, I had motivation beyond what one would normally encounter, and when the sky is falling around you, willpower is much easier to come by.

I'm just sayin...for someone like jtr who swallows about 15g of fat each day from his fatassed self produced saliva, 20g will be a tough one.

I could do it and I could make it taste damn good. I've done it before. Not a lifestyle I'd want to keep though.

Exercise has helped me out. I can't exercise as much as I used to due to the acheds and pains, but I've worked on lighter weights with more reps.

IndyFrisco wrote:Not a lifestyle I'd want to keep though.

Werd and WERD.

But once you learn "the game," it's possible to make some pretty tasty stuff. Usually too much effort for me, though.

But that weight loss system works, and works immediately.

Actually knowing how your body processes food might be the first step for you to living off the "Type 2" borderline. One surprise was learning how drinking sporks drinks, whether Gatorade or energy drinks are a bit too late when you need them. Eating basic correct foods and water in advance will save you some cashola. Stimulants and depressents work fairly quickly, but that isn't what the cells in your body that have just gone into shock need when you want to push it to another level.

If you're exercising hard and feel thirsty, drink water as it will be absorbed into your cells rather quickly. The sugars and other things will sit in you stomach and wait in line to be processed over a period of time.
