....does Ryan Howard get serious consideration for the MVP? Beltran is the favorite and I don't dispute that, however the Phillies are being carried by Howard's bat and a team that was out of it at the all-star break is suddenly within 1/2 game of the wild card spot.

Howard should be getting serious MVP consideration regardless of the Phillies record. Dude is the NL's Ortiz.

The NL MVP should be the AL player who committed that error that allowed the NL to win that one game in interleague play.

Right now, I'd vote for Jermaine Dye and Ryan Howard for MVP...the Phillies resurgence has been an amazing thing to watch and Howard is already up with Pujols as being the premiere slugger in the NL in just his second season.

I could have sworn I've seen him in the field without a bat in his hand.

With the bat. Didn't think that needed to be explained.

most definitely

wright and beltran might steal votes from each other, and pujols is injured somewhere on his arms and has been popping up everything.
