How much longer does Croom get?

He has 6 wins in 2+ seasons. He is 1-1 against 1-AA teams. Two of his wins have come against Tulane, including one last season post Katrina. His team has yet to score a point this season in 8 quarters. His teams have been shut out 5 times in 24 games. His teams have given up 35 or more points 5 times in 24 games.

I think he gets at least that long, but man he is really reminding me of Blake.

guy is clueless, the fact that Missistakey State keeps him is proof that they dont care about winning, just keeping the black students and the NAACP happy.
They need to fire him right now and hire Gene Chizik

Good thread Lefty. I was thinking about that over the weekend and how long would they give him since there seems to be no signs of improving the program. It will be interesting to see what happens once the season ends.

i bet Chizik can do better than Miss St....though depending on who's hiring when Chizik decides to go on the market obviously.

Miss State will never be competitive again. Too many D1A schools in a very small state. Then you have Bama, Auburn, LSU, and Florida State picking up any player in your state worth a damn...

even Jackson is way out in the middle of nowhere.
This is a school that has only been to 12 bowl games in their history, but 6 of them were under their last head coach. With the right coach, the school can regain respectability, but Croom is not the right coach.

i'll give you regaining respectability for MSU....but i'm leary of the "sleeping giant" moniker. as long as i've been alive (seriously), i've heard that about Missouri football. and they've been to 4 bowl games in the last 20 years. 2 under Pinkel, i think.
seems some giants prefer somnambulance.
plus, those white helmets blow.

Where was MSU when he got there?
Where is MSU now?
I think he is doing just fine down there. Give him 2 more years.
The defense is outstanding. He just needs to get an offense together.

The guy gets to the end of this season to show something, that is it. The something doesn't have to be a winning season, just that you are headed in the right direction. The defense is quite credible, but they will crumble if the offense keeps playing like a Div2 squad.

Hm, maybe the Tuscaloosans knew something...
What 'Bama fans know now isn't printable in most newspapers.
But hey, at least they didn't make an affirmative action hire.

Croom may have as much time as Shula after yesterday...

The unfortunate reality for Bama after the Price fiasco is that they should've chosen "none of the above" . Shula isn't realy better than Croom, he just has more to work with. Neither is a good HC and neither will likely have their job that much longer. Maybe Butch Davis should've held-out for the Bama job.

Hopefully for Miss State and its fans, the win over Bama doesnt buy Croom another season.

It doesn't matter how many wins he has. What matters is Miss. St. was bold enough to hire a black coach. That is worth style points. All you ignorant college football fans should realize it does NOT MATTER what your win vs. loss ratio is, what matters is your school being politcally correct in these politically correct times....
You people are really slow....

Anybody else think that this thread said, "how much longer does Crown get?" Anybody else read it and think, "man, it's about fuckin' time."
