The Big 11 stinks

We've all seen the articles bashing the Pac 10, but the media should be calling out the Big 11 as well. Aside from Ohio State, both the top and the bottom of the league looks extremely weak:

#11 Michigan: Beat Central Michigan and Vanderbilt at home, proving exactly nothing. Now they have to go to Notre Dame, where they haven't won in 12 years. Touchdown, Jesus!

#16 Iowa: Beat Montana and Syracuse in OT. The Cuse is horrible this year, so barely beating them isn't quite awe inspiring for a ranked team.

#25 Penn St.: Beat Akron, got poleaxed by the Domers.

Mich. St.: Beat Idaho and Eastern Michigan at home. They struggled against Idaho at home (27-17). Idaho got destroyed the next week by Wazzu, 56-10. Nuff said.

Wisconsin: Beat Bowling Green and Western Illinois at home. Noticing the trend here? Not exactly top notch competition for the supposed elite of the Big 11.

Minnesota: I know how that went... 42-17.

Now the BDW's:

Illinois: Shut out 33-0 by Rutgers. "Captain Zook, iceberg dead ahead!"

Indiana: Beat Western Michigan and Ball State by a point at home. Quite possibly the worst 2-0 team in the country.

Purdue: Needed OT to beat Miami at home. No, the other Miami (Ohio), which was soundly thrashed the previous week by Northwestern, which leads us to...

Northwestern: Trounced at home by Div I-AA New Hampshire.

So, let's review. Putting aside Ohio St., Big Ten teams have played two ranked teams so far, and both were blowout losses. Other Big Ten teams are struggling at home against directional schools and mediocre teams from lower tier conferences. Conclusion: Ohio State has a free pass to the National Championship game.

Sure... your attention span, and ability to comprehend the topic at hand is tested on a daily basis.

Allow me to generalize... "it must be a midwestern thing".

"Am I close"?

Not that IU is world beaters by any means, and not that little things like facts have stopped you in the past but...

IU was on the road against Ball St and playing with their 3rd string QB.

My bad... I didn't know it was Ball St at home.

Those fuckers bring it at home.

That was just reality kicking in... it happens.
