Being a football writer is not all it's cracked up to be...

Just finished my second HS football story for a local paper, and I have to say, it is a fucking chore. I have a whole new level of respect for statisticians after tonight. I had keep my own stats for the game, then drive 20 minutes home, leaving me with 45 minutes to tally all that shit up for a box score and then write a brief story on the game. Not exactly a fun Friday night. I'm only on my 2nd beer.

Sorry. I just needed to vent.

I've been taking my kids to Friday night games this fall. While it's a good time, I can see that you really have to be in the thick of it in order to have much to talk about.

I say screw the game. Just submit the story about when you and you lady made the roadie to Miami. Sneaking bic lighters on to a plane is always a good plot line.

Heh. I guess I'm trying to lay the foundation for a backup plan if this whole rock star gig doesn't pan out. It does kinda suck though. Our guitarist has school on Sat nights, so there really aren't many opportunities to play out at the moment.
