Do you mean to say we can't even blame Nike for those hideous uniforms? I don't know if you guys saw the gameday piece on Oregon but it was the players input...they actually choose those designs? "Its different, you know, but that is what we are." Yeah, you think so

I gotta admit, as hideous as those unis are, they just work for Oregon. They've become part of their appeal.

Erstaz diamond plate on the shoulders and knees of green unis is just mighty iffy...

Nike provides Oregon with the multiple designs, the players and or coaches choose the combination.

Did you watch gameday today? If you would have you would have seen the piece discussing the oregon players actually giving input on the uniforms. For examply, one guy was bragging about adding the tread marks to the shoulders.

Well the player input on the unis makes sense, I have heard that the coaches are making the decisions this year because 20+ seniors could not agree on any combinations last year.
I would probably vote for my own addition to the unis even if the other 20+ had their own.
Anyway, the least of Oregon's problems are their unis.

i think they suck, but maybe not as much as most people do. but, up against the classic Oklahoma look it's pretty pinball. in fact, i sorta like the idea to have a uniqueness to what you do....if you don't have tradition. there are certainly worse unis out there IMHO.
they've got a good team, good coach and all that.

Currently?
I'd be hard pressed to think of any.
I'd have to go back to some old Vancouver Canucks unis and maybe even some old San Diego Padres unis to even get within a sniff of being as ugly as Oregon's current unis. Among current CF teams I can't think of a one. There's none in the NFL either...
Whose unis are "certainly worse" than Oregon's?

That'd be the one exception, but they didn't use 'em for very long.

Bet you and ST could snap some up in a jiffy for the company softball team.

Little do you guys know, Oregon actually has
five unis for this season, rather than the four that were shown before the season.
They were just waiting for a special occasion to unveil the fifth...

I'm with Van. And Dins (giggle). Ducks have THE WORST uniform in sports (college/pro/ameteur/pee-wee, etc) history, 70'sCanucks included. Let the players have input? Oh, brilliant. Let 18-22 year olds, you know, the ones so in tune with stylish threads, decide on your uniforms? If that's the case, I'm surprised there aren't more guys with Sean Jean jerseys, Timberland
cleats, and way oversized pants with the wasitband at anus level. Congrats, Oregon. Decent team/program but your suits are a national joke.

I hate to rehash the subject over and over...but I will.
There is no substitute for tradition in college sports. These uni's make a mockery of everything that made CFB great. The Oregon uni's are disgraceful. They not only fly in the face of conventionality, but they're God awful to boot. Any "student-athlete" that would rather wear those rags as opposed to the legendary PSU, UM, OSU, OU, Texas, ND, USC,UCLA, 'bama, LSU, or any other tradition rich uni is a piece of trash that I don't want on my sideline anyhow.
Rant over.

those wazzou rollerball threads were pretty bad this weekend past, too.

Problem is, Oregon's never had a uni that was good enough to be "tradition" worthy.
Then again, going the M.C. Hammer parachute pants route wasn't too smart here either. Yeah, you never want to wear something that is so easily "dated" as these new Oregon unis but at least those stupid Hammer pants were wildly popular for awhile there. Oregon's unis are going to quickly look dated and they're universally loathed even in their own time...
There's no way that ten, twenty or thirty years from now we won't all be saying, "Dude, I got that beat. Remember those old Oregon unis, back in the early 2000s??"
A hushed reverence will ensure as everybody nods their heads in acknowledgement that yep, nothing's gonna top that. Game over.
