I'll say it. You are an idiot.

2 teams with 1 loss ahead of Michigan.
ND only 1 slot behind the team that schooled them on their own field by 26 pts.

Is that you M2, Babs, Trix, or Jon?

No Texas at all??

Call me crazy but even with Shakira playing QB for Texas I'm reasonably sure Texas would still roll UCLA.

Don't do it man, don't do it!! Michigan will be soon be exposed as children. Great, they beat Notre Dame. ND is a joke. Let's go through the season as it stands and relates. ND gets love for no reason in the preseason then beats Penn State. Penn State is useless without Michael Robinson and can only manage a 50 yd field goal at halftime against Youngstown State. that makes PSU shite, and the ND vistory useless. Mich beats ND proving that ND is a joke and the love is gone. So now Mich is god? Nope, they'll get schooled by Wisconsin this week, and/or at Minnesota the next. They might beat Michigan State, but at PSU, who we know is shite, will close the circle. Joke beats shite, children beat joke, shite beats children. All pretenders to the crown.

Don't do it man, don't do it!! Do not go with the flavor of the week. Moving Michigan above Texas, Florida, Georgia, or LSU is just following the crowd. I should have kicked ND outta my top 10 tho, thanks for pointing that out. Dunno what I was thinking.

So Michigan deserves a low spot because they're going to "get schooled by Wisconsin this week?"

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhkay.

Brilliant thought process.

Van, this is the kind of "intelligence" you're importing to this forum? You've got some splainin' to do.

See, you base your rankings on what you currently know, not on ludicrous future predictions.

And no, I'm no Michigan fan. Figured I'd just get that out of the way now.

Mgo, dude seriously thinks very little of ND. He doesn't think a very average Michigan deserves all that much heightened respect just for beating the most overrated program in the history of the universe. That's what he's getting at here.

Thing is, come to think of it, will you really be all that surprised if he's correct and Michigan goes right back out and loses to somebody like Wisconsin or Minnesota? I certainly wouldn't put it past 'em...

I just want to see if ST here actually sticks it out and sticks around throughout the season; or, is he just coming in hard and brash now, only to flame out in short order?

The guy knows his college football pretty well, I'll definitely vouch for that. He's nowhere near as anally retentive about the entire CF landscape as are many here but he does know his football. He has a hard time accepting anything though that isn't either Texas/Big12, OSU, USC or SEC. He'll give USC, OSU and the SEC their just due but beyond that he usually assumes everybody else are pussies who couldn't stand up to the Greatness That Is Texas.

Oh, and he absolutely loathes anything to do with Oklahoma. The entire state, not just the Sooner football team. His motto is that Texas placed their border patrol on the wrong river.

That's just it: Base rankings on what we currently know. We know ND got undeserved love and exposed, we know PSU is not that good, we know Mich was ranked 13 and 11 last week before beating ND. Should they get moved past Texas, Georgia, Florida? Would they beat these teams on a neutral site? Maybe LSU who has offensive woes...maybe. I simply cannot, in good conscience, label them an elite team right now. If they get through Wisc, Minnesota, Mich State, PSU, Iowa I'll be the 1st to pony up and say I was wrong.

BTW, the rankings are out:

Hmm. Yeah, sure sounds like he "knows his college football."

Van, if you're going to argue for a guy's football knowledge, the key is to NOT make him look like an ignorant dumbshit.

Idiots.

Please. Blatant homerism and a knowledge of CF are not mutually exclusive items. Many of this board's denizens prove it every day.

Nah. The "blatant homerists" are generally looked down upon on these boards. Guys like m2, bradhuskers, JON, and the late Babs.

The rest of us, regardless of how much we love our teams, act pretty level headed and rational when discussing the game.

If your boy really does possess all this knowledge you say he does, fine, but he's going to have to prove it with arguments other than " _____ is a piece of shit and should die because I hate him!"

Mgo, true, obviously.

Like I said, I'll be interested to see if he sticks around and really gets involved in critical discussions here. If he does he'll be a good addition here.

His sense of humor though is such that I'm not sure he can rein in his quips about Oklahoma and All Things Okies.
