Then maybe Bowden would hang it up. This program is in total dis aray. Sadly, I don't see it getting turned around till Bobby leaves , dies of a heart attack, or gets hit by lightning on the sidelines.
Fuck the ACLU. It will always be Merry Christmas to me.

True Bobby is loyal to a fault and I dig that about him. However I do feel like the game passed him by 5-6 years ago. Its no longer just a recruiters war. The coaching staff must put the players in the best position to succeed. This rarely happens at FSU anymore where as in the hay day it was the norm.
I love the old man and it pains me to see the program hit a down slide in the twilight of his carrer. Never the less, it is a younger mans game these days and I just don't see Bobby cutting it nor making the move necessary to bring in those who can. I wonder if he would still hang around if Joe Pa was not nipping at his heels for the all time wins record. The saddest part about all this is to hear him speaking to the media. We hear alot of dag gumits, and shucks out of him. We hear a man who is resigned to mediocrity. He has built up alot of collateral love in this town but If things don't change that will continue to erode, quickly.

What sucks is that we are probaly going to get owned by the gates in tally too. I can handle losing to anybody but those fucks. God damn jeff bowden.
Rack me....FSU still sucks. Until Jeffy is gone, we wont be shit. Since Bobby aint gonna get rid of his son.....Until Bobby is gone, we wont be shit.
Just get use to it.

My lock of the week: Clemson over FSU in tally by 14.

T,
Amost two years ago we got in an argument regarding Chris Rix sucking or either Dickey being a terrible QB coach. I'd have to admit defeat in my defense of Dickey.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Drew Weatherford is just awful. Hasn't made a single improvement over last year. Are we going to be force fed his pathetic immobile play for the rest of this season or is someone going to step in and let Xaiver have a shot???
Just fucking awful last night. I need a new team. I can only imagine the screaming, filthy remarks coming from the seats last night.

Did you have more than 83 yds in the first half? Did your offense score more than the defense? If the answer is yes to either question...then I don't want to hear about it! ;)PSUFAN wrote:On a related matter...I am very unhappy with my own team, and how it is being coached. Yeah well, here's what I saw last night (and I watched much of it just because I like watching FSU loses):TheChief wrote:Drew Weatherford is just awful. Weatherford's O-line sucks, not that that's anything new to FSUfan.
FSU's RB's aren't good. Booker ain't all that, as much as FSUfan would like to think so.
I saw lots o' dropped passes by the WR's last night.
So, Drew's supposed to perform given that hand. Please.
Drew should be thanked for leading his team down the field when the planet's aligned and his team actually gave him the opportunity to. No other QB, Brady Quinn, Smoker, Booty, etc can consistently lead FSU on drives with the shit on the field.
Sorry, but you're takin' your shots at the wrong person.
No disrespect Ken, but you are wrong on two different accounts. First, FSUfan does not think Booker is all that...and hasn't since his sophmore year. The dancing around is just awful.Ken wrote:Yeah well, here's what I saw last night (and I watched much of it just because I like watching FSU loses):

Last night, if you watched the first half you weren't seeing drops...you were seeing balls thrown in the dirt, thrown over people's heads, or completely just missing wide open players (at one point they showed a replay of Drew sitting in the pocket watching a wide open Warren running up the middle of the field)...uhhh hello Drew...now is the time you throw the fucking ball.
Secondly, Weatherford is not mobile AT ALL. He is slow to find receivers, he is slow to pass, he is slow to move, and he is slow to run.
Lets also not forget that he aligned the offense wrong FIVE different times AT HOME. He fumbled the ball on a hand off for TWO consecutive games, he had to burn ALL of the timeouts in the first half ( I think all three in the first quarter!).
There were two crucial drops in the second half, one by Carr I believe and one by Davis....you are right there. Those two hurt.
The performance was nothing new, it is the same performance I have seen from Drew every game since the game last year against Clemson. Maryland, Virgina, Clemson (Twice), Miami, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Florida. Everygame is just awful from the QB standpoint.
Lastly, according to Weatherford (today) the offensive line is allowing him plenty of time to pass.

I'll concede somewhat given that you watch much more FSU than I.
However, you can list all the Weatherford eff ups you want. It doesn't refute the fact that the rest of FSU's offense doesn't give him one iota of an opportunity to get into any sort of rythym. W/out a rythym and feel for the game, the things you listed are more likely to happen and more often.
He may not be a world-beater, but he ain't the sun-baked, dog shit you're making him out to be. I'll also say the same of Rix. He wasn't the problem. The rest of the FSU offense was... specifically the o-line.
Lastly, what do you expect Drew to say? "If the O-line would just gel and give me some time back there..."
Please.

I told him two years ago Rix wasnt the problem.
The problem: Offensive coaches.
Our o-line never improves-play like they are in high school
Our QBs never improve-play like they are in high school
Our playbook is written all over our faces-poor play calls
We get better assistants to teach these kids how to play college football, start calling some thought out plays, and maybe will be somewhere at the end of the season.
That was shitty how they did X. Put him in on the last play of the game. What was that shit?TheChief wrote: Are we going to be force fed his pathetic immobile play for the rest of this season or is someone going to step in and let Xaiver have a shot???
XLee will probaly go the Fabian walker rout and leave the good ole boy circle jerk goin on in tally to Valdosta and lead them to another national championship.
We should have played fabian and we should be playing lee.
What won us the national championship in 93? A mobile qb, going for it all play calls, and just good ole fashion fun.
This 1970 football we have been playing the last 5 years has sucked.

If the FSU coaching staff put the O in the best position to succeed I would be able to QB them. Woth that talent, all your Qb has to do is manage the game-see Will Proctor.
I do believe Drew would be an adequit QB but he is allways running for his life so its hard to tell. They say Lee has'nt caught on to the offense. Hell develope a package of a dozen plays for him so he can be inserted into the game as a spark/change of pace,-see piss poor coaching.
The O line is a bunch of pussies who stand around like hobbled horses. If I seen one of them actually move thier feet I think I would piss my pants-see poor coaching.
I have seen high school kids run better routes that the FSU recievers-see poor coaching.
I can come up with a better scheme and play calling if I were shopping for a honey bun at the circle K-see poor coaching.
Ultimate responsibility for all of this-B. Bowden.
Trust me, its going to get ugly down here in Tally.

I have always been a Drew supporter, but we need to make a change. I am not putting all the blame on him, but he isn't the solution to our problems. I know we wont see a coaching change during the season, so I say give a Xavier a chance. He looks to throw down field more if he is successful at that, maybe the defenses wont stack the box like they have been doing. It is time for Bobby to step down b/c the game has definitely passed him by. I have got used to losing and it sucks.
^^^^???? - THat was just a dumb statement.Mr T wrote:Ken schooling the nole on his own team.Ken wrote: He may not be a world-beater, but he ain't the sun-baked, dog shit you're making him out to be. Guys, don't get me wrong here. I'm not saying Drew is the ONLY problem. I thought that was pretty obvious since I have been posting here a long time about the OLine Woes, Jeff Bowden, and those dancing queen tailbacks. Neither one of you knows more or thinks differently then I do...unless of course you think Drew is a good QB at this point. I am tired of watching his shake, I want to Xavier to get his. Xavier was brought in to save this offense, they said he didn't grasp the offense very well over a year ago. Surely he has something grasped by now....
FYI Today's Warchant front page "Time for a change at QB?"
Looks like somebody out there agrees that Drew/Rix is/was a cog of a bigger problem.
This is certainly true and I'm not making any excuses for anyone on the team. Just don't want to watch Drew play poorly anymore, I'd like to see Xavier have an equal chance to play just as piss poor as Drew does.Ken wrote:I'll concede somewhat given that you watch much more FSU than I.

And on Drew calling out the O-line, I don't necessarily expect him to "Call" them out, but I would expect a different, more creative statement other than " I don't know what's going on, they are giving me plenty of time to pass. The offensive line is protecting great."
They did the same thing to rix with AD and Fabian. Oh Rix is the problem....a couple years later....Oh Weatherford is the problem. These are fucking kids.....WHY NOT POINT THE FINGER AT THE ADULTS WHO HAVE BEEN FUCKING UP LONGER THAN THESE KIDS HAVE BEEN IN SCHOOL?TheChief wrote: FYI Today's Warchant front page "Time for a change at QB?"

If warchant would sack up and say "Time for a change at HC?" Then maybe I would agree.
They say Lee hasnt grasp the offense.....I CANT EVEN GRASP WHAT THE FUCK OUR OFFENSE IS DOING! CAN YOU?
Its called a good ole boy circle jerk. All those assistants are getting paid to do nothing. Bobby aint gonna fire them because there good ole boys. And why work harder when your getting paid the same? All they are gonna do is point the finger at the kids.
Fabian Walker and AD werent grasping the offense either yet both were successful playing elsewhere.
Fuck this shit.

Putting Lee in at the end of the game was not such a bad move since he can throw it over 70 yards as opposed to Drew throwing it 40 yards. The cluster fuck was putting him in there with no warm up. Dude only had shoulder surgery this spring.
I gotta go with T. Bowden has got to give it up. I'm not talking aboutJeff any more. He is still there because of Bobby. One school of though is that Bobby deserves to say when he goes because he has been good for FSU. Well FSU has been good for him also. He has hauled in huge cash over the years and the school has given him everything he has ever wanted.
In the real world if you have been a killer executive for 30 years then you went in the toilet the past 5, how long would you still be around? I don't think anyone should be given a life time pass.
BTW, FSU fan agonizes every time they see Booker line up in the backfield.

Actually, this would be a great week to make a qb change. We got Rice coming in and sorry Lefty, thier D just is'nt that good. You then have the following Sat off before A Thurs. night game at NC state. That would give Lee an extended practice time before game 2. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that would make to much sense.

I thought PSU may have turned another corner but they likely didn't. Granted Joe's teams shouldn't go back to being the losers they were for a few years but they won't become a consistent power again either. They will only be really good once every few years when talent and experience come together. Otherwise they will dwell in the middle of the conference. That is OK but it shouldn't be enough if you are PSU.PSUFAN wrote:FE FI FO FAD - I smell the blood of a father-son coaching relationship gone bad.
I know that smell well.
thanks, I'm here all week...
As far as Bobby goes, if he won't bring in a staff that can return them to dominance he needs to abdicate the throne for somebody who will. It is nice that he is being loyal but he is putting his feelings above the good of FSU.
You gonna bark all day little doggie or are you gonna bite?
