How bad are the Chiefs?

...16 points scored in 2 games, only the Lions, Raiduhs and Jess have scored less. On the other hand they've given up 32 points in 2 games..not too bad. when will Green be back and will he be a tad gun-shy?

Our offensive line played better in Denver, but still not anywhere near last year's level.
Green will be back week 4 and I expect Welbourn to be resigned in week 7 - though he probably won't be on the field for a couple weeks after that.
Add in the horrible play calling and you've got a recipe for a long snooze of a season.
If Solari pulls his head out of his ass, maybe we finish 9-7 with some luck......
A lot of luck.

Chargers will probably win the division- despite Schottenheimer's best efforts
Denver & Oakland will fight it out for 2nd/3rd place

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that take was a poor attempt at ankle biting. Once the Chiefs get Green back they will be a decent ball club. I think it will be too late when it comes to making a playoff run. Even without Green I think the Chiefs are better than the Raiders. I have never seen such uninspired football in my entire life. The Raiders are truly a disgrace to the NFL.
San Diego and Denver will battle for the division while the Chiefs take 3rd, EASILY, followed by the 2-14 Raiders.

As I recall, the Chefs got about as far into the playoffs last year as I predicted they would at the beginning of the season.
By any measure, that makes me more of an expert on the NFL, and the Chefs than KC Paula

You're close ChargerMike…but wrong!
It’s Gunther Cunningham fishing in Port Aransas in Texas in early January
No way he sticks around anywhere near Kansas City

Even when Green gets back the Chiefs will be lucky to finish the season 8-8. I'll call 7-9 right now.

Getting Green back will not fix their horrible offensive line.
From what I can tell LJ is getting decent yards, and having Green back there will keep opposing defenses on their toes. I'm not saying they'll be a playoff team, but they should get back to .500 ball.

I'm betting Green will be out a little past week four, if not the entire season. I hope grandmama kept her legs fresh this offseason.

Trent won't be out the entire season, but week 4 is a bit optimistic at this point.
One thing for sure is that he wants to get back out there ASAP, but the doctors had best keep him on a short leash until it's certain he's 100%.
That said, KC is going to have to allow Huard quite a bit more lee-way in the passing game.
Yesterday it was run on 1st and 2nd down and only pass in the obvious passing situations, 3rd and long. Too damn predictable.
It's also too damn funny how some of the vultures are already circling after just two games.
The defense is quite obviously much improved, LJ is still getting his yards behind that "horrible" O-line that still includes two Pro Bowlers (Shields and Waters) and another in Casey Weigman that by all rights should have been.
They have the talent on both sides of the ball. Coaching and game management is another matter. They bumbled the clock and their timeouts at both the end of the first and 2nd half. Both times they had the ball in position to do some damage, and wound up settling for a FG in the first instance, and playing for a coin flip in OT in the second. That has to improve.
Still a lot of football left to be played, and no way am I writing this team off yet.

Ok, allow me to do it for you.

Thats exactly why Im writing off this season. Herm is the polar opposite of Vermiel. Solari has no idea what in the hell he is doing trying to run an offense.

I say 6-10.
W's
SF
Oak
@ Cle
@ Oak
with 2 luck wins mixed in for shits and grins.

Why does it have to improve ... ?
I bet if we had a Jet fan around here he'd tell you that Herm routinely fucks those things up.
You've got a team that's worse than last year, and on top of that they are a big fat bore to watch.

I'll say these are the W's:
SF
SD - big upset, though
@ MIA - broke the string of losses in FLA last year
OAK
DEN
@ CLE
@ OAK
Shit, 7-9 is a stretch!

*Sigh*
Didn't Martyball at least run some play action?
OK here's what I see for the rest of '06
vs. SF = W
@ AZ = W if Trent is back / L if it's still Huard
@ Pitt = L
vs. SD = W w/ Green / L without
vs. Seattle = L
@ StL = W w/ Green / L without
@ Mia = W
vs. Oak = W
vs. Den = W
@ Clev = W
vs. Bmore = L
@ SD = L
@ Oak = W
vs. Jax = L
That's 9-7 if Green comes back - 6-10 if he doesn't
I think the middle of the season is also when Welbourne makes it back which would coincide with the 5 game win streak
Aim your BB guns now.....

Anyone outside of Kansas City knows the Griefs are pretenders.
The real question is how bad are the Doinks?
An ass kicking by St Loser, then squeaking by the Griefs (with a back up QB) at home 9-6?
Why do I have the feeling Denver is going to implode this season?
It's looking like the Chargers will win the divison by default. :D

Charger fans all giddy because of two wins over possibly the two worst teams in the NFL. We will see how they do against Baltimore and Pittsburgh in the next couple weeks. Rivers still hasn't been tested. That being said 10-6 or 9-7 could win the AFC West this year.

It's called being in front. How about Grief fan waiting until they're in front before runin' their pieholes?
Never happen.....they're always the preseason champions......

Ass-kicking by St Louis? You didn't watch any of the game, did you? St. Louis is no slouch and Denver was in it until the end, despite the horrid offense and the turnovers. The way the defense is playing, when the offense comes around -- and it will -- Denver will be a force. It's purely wishful thinking on Blotfan's part at this point to pencil themselves in as division champs. You've beaten the two worst teams in football. Congrats.

Wait just a damn minute here, Red.
You must not be aware of the fact that when a team goes 2-0 to start the season, regardless of how shitty those opponents were, they almost always go on to win the division.
Just ask Mikey. He'll tell you what's up.
Personally, I wish KC would forfeit the rest of their games. Dungver should do the same. The Raiders already have
I say that we should just hand the title over now, and let that awesome Sandyeggo team get their "AFC West Champs" T-shirts to the silk screeners early before the Christmas rush hits.

Way to show what you're made of, though it doesn't really take much, now does it?
One little comment, and you come trundling in here with that Charger tin foil hat shooting off sparks, peashooter ablazing.
Take a deep breath and relax old man, or you're going to have a coronary before the bye week is over and you
literally fall off that bandwagon.
Btw, since you're new here, just an FYI. I don't kiss anyones ass, least of all Scott's.
