Thought I would get this started for our Big 12 North neighbors.
My thoughts right now are
1. Geng Chizik - wicked defensive coach reminds me of DC Bob Stoops
2. Monty Kiffin - Has a great resume and learned from the best, Norm Chow
3. Chris Petersen - I have my doubts he will leave Boisie State any time soon because of his daughter but if he does he will be a good one.
4. Will Muschamp - DC at Auburn is as good as his predecessor.
5. Major Applewhite - Ok now I'm looking way down the road, probably 10 years or so but I just respect the hell out of Opie.

RACK
That guy will win 10 games that first year and the Irish pride will be restored...then ultimately he'll be out on his ass in 2 or 3 years.

I deem any thread that does not mention Kal, a Kal coach, a Kal player or wind chimes go immediately to TROTS
Sincerely,
Kal Bitch

You mean Lane?
I think he will be a great coach in the future.

Lane Kiffin is the one who "learned" from Norm Chow. I'm not sure I buy his upside yet. It's clear to me that the success he has enjoyed was thanks to stellar talent and Pete Carroll's involvement in the offense.
His players hate him, btw.

West Texas A&M is in such desolate country that one must drive to Amarillo to look for the resemblance of a good time. Almost makes Lubbock look like paradise city. For those who have never ventured to the Texas Panhandle, it is a landscape that is like MD 20/20, an acquired taste none the less. The only thing it has going for it is being a cut above Midland/Odessa.

Gary Patterson is already one of the best out there and is hardly an unknown. But I see him leading an elite program pretty soon.
Muschamp from Auburn, Chizik from Texas, and Pelini from LSU. All three DC's will be on short-lists after this season.
I guess I'll throw in Kragthorpe from Tulsa.
