tOSU @ Iowa
Should be a pretty good game, given that the last prime-time game tOSU was involved in (week 2) didn't quite pan out to be the "game of the year," despite Cuntsberger's repeated claims about '05 (Last year's USC-ND game obviously wasn't on ABC, but I digress).
Earlier today, Corso pointed out that tOSU played PSU in its 5th game last year, just like they have a tough road test (at least on paper) in their 5th game tonight, and picked the Hawkeyes to win tonight, which probably means the kiss of death for Iowa.
If tOSU can take the crowd out of it early, it could be a yawner. If not, Iowa has a chance as that place will be psychotic tonight.
No offense, Buckeye Fan, but I'd love to see the upset, just as I'm cheering on WSU as I type this.

Looks like it, still. Shit. It looks like dude is throwing the ball like Favre would be to high school receivers. Not that the receivers are bad, but dude is wound higher than the stitching on my gf's duvet cover.Bobby42 wrote:Drew Tate better settle down. Buckeyes are in his dome.
Btw, TTB: What's up with you not putting down the Saturday man law? Maybe it's because I have to work on Sundays, and my OL has to work both some Saturdays and Sundays, but Saturdays in the RF household are a given "we're going to do our own thing" day and still be nice to each other. And it's a given that CFB is the priority. Hey, you can improvise if it's a boring game.

Yeah, seriously. AD has got to be the favorite in the Heisman, I mean he had only lost one game. But really, lets just ignore those three or four bad calls, Iowa was lucky to be this close.
RACK Troy, Gonzalez, Pittman and Gonzalez. Way to go into a hostile environment and show why we are the #1 team. And rack our fucking D. I can't wait till the Michigan game.

And if you think that AD was the reason OU lost at Oregon, you're more of a fucking moron than your post above indicates.
Anyone that follows this forum knows who started the heisman thread, but you pull a Trix and was overcome with the need to nitpick. What's next, you aping m2 and posting pics of Okie landmarks and carnival slunts?
As far as your last comment, where the fuck are you getting this from? Nobody except you has ever insinuated that AD was the cause of the OU loss. Who's the fucking moron?
Maybe if you ask the mods nicely, they might give you a do-over. With the "quality" take you prematurely esmackulated, you might seriously try to delete it before anyone else reads it.

I know you're all eagerly anticipating my take on the game, so.....
First off, unbelieveable to props to the Buckeyes. When I left the stadium last night, the first thing I said to my buddy was "it was men amongst boys out there." That really is the only way to describe the game.
I want to chime in on the atmosphere. Probably the most electric Kinnick stadium has ever been. This is not my Hawkeye homerism here, as you can ask any if the 5,000 or so Buckeye fans in attendance (I was really expecting a few more Bucks than there were). Crowd was unbelieveably loud, and that stadium looked fucking badass at night with everyone wearing gold. I have seen SEC games and none of them compare to the atmosphere last night at Kinnick, and all I ever hear about is how nowhere else matches the atmospheres at SEC stadiums. Whatever. 60 minutes before the game, it was 2/3 full. About 10 minutes prior to Kinnick, some Buckeye fan was walking down the stairs to his seat, then stopped to look around and goes "Hell yeah, now this is what I'm talking about. Fuck Texas!" I talked to a few Buckeye fans that made the roadie to Austin a few weeks ago and they all said that the atmosphere down there was lame compared to Iowa City. Buckeye fans were great. About 30 minutes before the gates opened, Buckeye fan was lined up in front of the gates waiting to be first in. But I must say, I have really grown to hate that fucking "OH-IO" chant. If I never hear that again, I'll be a very happy person!
Now, onto the game....
Like I said earlier.....men amongst boys. tOSU was faster, stronger, bigger, and more athletic. They were qucker to the corner and they played like a national championship team. Not very many mistakes, like championship teams do. If there's a better team out there, I'd like to see it. Iowa made some mistakes (most of them came from our senior QB or our WR's), and the Buckeyes made us pay for each of them. Going on the road in a hostile enviroment, not turning the ball over once and committing only 18 yards of penalties.......that is the sign of a well coached and prepared team. I thought the biggest defensive stop Ohio State got was near the end of the 1st half when Iowa got the ball at midfield trailing 14-10 and then proceeded to go 3-and-out. That really seemed to suck the wind out of Iowa. Then OSU drove 90 yards for a TD to go up 21-10 at half instead of either trailing 17-14 or only leading 14-13. In a 38-17 game, it seems silly to think that just one defensive stop in the 1st half could have such a huge impact on the game, but I truly believe it did. After we went 3-and-out on that possession, I turned to the people I was sitting with and said "game over." Our defense wore down, and the Buckeyes offense had the ball nearly the entire 3rd quarter. We had just 1 possession the entire quarter and I think it lasted maybe a little over a minute. Everytime it looked as if we were poised to get back in the game, the Buckeyes stepped up and made a play. On the other hand, I can't think of very many big plays our defense or offense made. But Drew Tate melted down against tOSU for the 2nd straight year and that was very disappointing. We needed him to play smart and he did not. He was missing open receivers and making poor decisions. I think the Buckeye defense really flustered him.
I still think this will be a very good year for Iowa. We're going to get better if we can get healthier. Too many banged up guys. I watched our O-linemen and D-linemen limp back to the huddle far too many times. But when our D and O lines get better (and they will soon), this will be a very good team. While it was obvious that tOSU was much faster and athletic than Iowa, this game was won (or lost, if you're looking at Iowa's perspective) at the line of scrimmage. tOSU simply donkey punched the Hawks up front. But I see no reason why this team should do any worse than 10-2. And I don't think a win at Michigan is out of the question. I'm not saying it's will, but I think by the time we play UM in 3 weeks, we'll be a much improved team. Middle of October is about the time Ferentz' teams really start to gel.
Props on the win Buckeyes and enjoy your national title you're going to win in a few months.

I don't talk shit unless instigated, by the way. Remind me who began the shit talking???? If any poster disagrees with what I write, then that is fine, they can proceed to dispute what I've said. Free country. But to come at me with a lame post like sc did is going to force me to respond with shit talking. And i'm still sticking behind my previous post that is hoping for sc to kill himself.

Wow...a guy on a message board, a guy you don't even know, calls you a "bitch"...on a freaking message board and you wish death upon him?
I've been called worse by women over the age of 80, immobile women, and in REAL LIFE, with still nary a reaction from me.
And you wish death upon this guy? For that?
You don't do well in life, do you there, big JON?

No, you won't. I will be in Ann Arbor for the wtieekend.
What is with you people tracking when I check in? My goodness. I am one of the original members of these boards, and Iowa was a horrible team back then. In fact, I actually posted MORE when Iowa sucked. I've said it a million times......if Iowa wins, maybe I'll come in and if they lose, maybe I will. Just depends if I feel like it.
The ONLY time I've ever not posted after a loss because I couldn't bring myself to even talk about it was after Iowa lost to Northwestern State in the NCAA tournament. I barely even watched the rest of the NCAA tournament, I just couldn't stomache anymore basketball. It was too fucking depressing!

No Jon it was more how you were completely transparent the whole week up to the game (granted there weren't many threads started) but then you check in right after the game...had Iowa won you would have had your first post here shortly after the new day started (Sunday)...that is your MO and that is a fact...
tOSU won, Iowa lost...great...hopefully Iowa can right the ship and get by the rest of the conference with maybe one more loss...
that better for you? embarassing their fan base? BWAAHHAAAA....
pot kettle much?

People keep track because you love to flap your gums in the preseason and give us your worthless predictions. Besides being worthless, they are also fucking repetitive. The Big 12 sucks, Notre Dame sucks, the SEC is awesome, this is Iowa's yeat, etc.TheJON wrote: What is with you people tracking when I check in? My goodness. If I wanted to keep hearing the same mindless yammering, I'd ask my wife about her day at work.
But when you do that and call out specific teams, when those teams inevitably prove you wrong, they want their pound of flesh because this is a smack board. But you are usually nowhere to be found. You may say that if Iowa wins, maybe you'll post and if Iowa loses, maybe you'll post, but that maybe sure is a lot more frequent after a Hawkeye win.
And tone it the fuck down and lighten the fuck up if you really wish someone would kill themselves because they talk shit to you.

NOJ, _sc smacks you, and you wish death on him? Then call it "shit-talking"? It must be that tough upbringing, watching Ditka instead of Mr. Rogers, that has left you so unflappable.
Seriously, how can you not =bitch? You don't even participate in a pre-game thread of any kind. You don't even seize a moment to strap on some balls and give your team a shot. When all you do is show up after your team's been pimp-slapped, then it's fundamental that you =bitch.

I love how Jon takes a swipe at Texas. Every Buckeye I talked to about the game said it was one othe best environments they had ever experienced. I even asked one how it compared to Iowa and he said "Fuck Kinnick stadium and fuck the Hawkeyes."
So there.
SC, if you ever need a hotline to call because Jon has made you feel so low because you sit behind a keyboard and talk shit and want to kill yourself, give me a call. I will read you Jon posts until you can 't think about offing yourself.

Let me get this straight....
I can't come in and give a team props because I didn't partake in any pre-game discussion about the game?
What the fuck was I supposed to say before the game? Shit, everyone knew tOSU was gonna win by 20. I talked to very few Iowa fans before the game that thought we would win.
Jeez, this is the last fucking time I'm giving a team any props in here for beating Iowa. Man, I get ripped for that?? How fucking lame does that sound?
