Flag planting

What the fuck is this flag planting shit all about anyway?

I think the classy Spartans invented this shit as far as CFB goes. Then Minnesota does it at the Big House last year, and yesterday Illinois got Sparties panties in a twist when they gave them a bit of their own medicine. Sparty would have none of this and a bitch fight broke out near mid-field. Yet the hardest slap came when John LLLL slaps himself upside the noggin in the post game presser. What the hell is going on. To quote a UM blogger.."planting flags is for space exploration and winning military battles".

Do you see the obvious pattern? All three of the "planters" are shit teams, unfamiliar with winning.

Babs isn't around anymore. Give it a rest.

I nearly spilled my beer yesterday when I heard on the radio that Illinois planted their flag at Spartan Stadium. They win their first game against a 1-A team in about 3 years and they plant their flag at midfield of the opposing teams stadium? Probably Zook's idea.

I will not.

If you'll notice MSU was only 1 of 3 teams mentioned.

Inferiority complex much?

PS. Let's get a UM/MSU thread started.

Planting the flag, dancing on the opponents painted symbol is classless and shows the lack of disipline of the team involved. I would be ashamed if I saw tOSU doing it. You score TD's like you've been there before and you win like you've won before. MSU/ILL and all the rest just show what kind of players they are recruiting.

What the hell kind of flag does Illinois have?

Have they ever done anything to deserve a flag?

Hell it was probably a Chicago Cubs flag.

That is my point. It's absurd for a team to win it's first conference game in over 2 years, to act like they won the MNC.

It's assinine for a team that beat another for the first time in 17 meetings to "plant".

And it's re-damn-diculous for a team that longs to be among the big boys to act so classless...not that anyone was suprised.

Great line...football and football players seems forget sometimes that they are playing just a game.

I wonder if they get this idea from John LL and how he climbed a mountain...climbers plant flags at the summit. Maybe it's just a symbolic thing for reaching a summit. However, this team metaphorically has barely left base camp. Teams that don't accomplish much over compensate one or two good wins in a year. It's the whole "act like you've been there before" cliche. Teams like State and Illinois haven't been there in a while and they go overboard with celebrating on the field and rub their opponents noses in it and make new enemies more than they earn respect from their colleagues. Most teams would be bothered with just losing but when you show them up, they want your scalp next you play them. Just take the W and move on...leave the theatrics for the XFL (a moment of silence for the XFL...thank you).

I remember tOSU and Wisconsin doing this shit with dancing on the O and the W...pretty weak shit...win the game, hit the showers and go home...but that was when Cooper was in charge and we had the likes of Reggie Germany, Ken Yon Rambo, etc...

I hate all of this shit...score a TD hand the ball to the ref plain and simple...

Big fucking deal. Let me know when they plant their goal post in your team's section.

Looks like they're already too busy planting their goalposts in their own team's section.

If there was any doubt about where Charlie Weis and ND reside with Johnelle, his post game presser gave a pretty good indication that they have a healthy spot along side the unicorns, bigfoot, and purple traffic lights in that bat shit crazy mother fuckers head.

Him slapping himself and saying "And I was slapped" as a not so subtle shot at Weis from the previous week.

He's about ready for a rubber room.

No dude, it's TOTALLY cool.

Except we do it before the game, just in case we lose.

^^^^

Didn't Miami try that same shit (before the game) earlier this year at Louisville?

Guess they saw that asswhipping coming.

When you think of "classy CFB programs," the names UDub and Miami come quickly to mind...by comparison, every CFB team looks classy compared to those two.

Duck fan calling out the Huskies for behavior on the field is comical. I don't see anybody else calling out the Huskies on here, only you. You, the one with a football program discovered by Oregon "fans" in the 1990s. You, the one who obviously has little brother syndrome when you compare the extremely limited success of your "program" to that of the Washington Huskies. We are comfortable with who we are. You, on the other hand, have no idea who you are. We obviously live in your dome and that speaks volumes. Which uni will you be wearing when we pound your bitch asses in that high school stadium of yours?

Maybe the Mutts save their "best behavior" for Oregon...I dunno.

Last I checked, the thread was about flag-planting and logo-dancing...you're not really going to sit there and deny guilt, are you?

Please tell me that's not where you're going here?

You, the one with a football program discovered by Oregon "fans" in the 1990s.
Yeah, whatever. Plenty of OG Disney stickers running around on old rigs(one at the homestead, actually).

Dan Fouts...Bobby "Little Mike" Moore...Norm Van Brockin...ever heard of them?
You, the one who obviously has little brother syndrome when you compare the extremely limited success of your "program" to that of the Washington Huskies.

What have you done for me lately?

We are comfortable with who we are.
Considering your lot still thinks "the wave" is funky-fresh, is this really something that you should be bringing up?

And you're 3 weeks removed from being the PAC10's whipping boy...how's that "comfort level" thing working out for you?
We obviously live in your dome
If you claim it, it will come.

This line comes across as tearfully funny, considering it was immediately followed by:
and that speaks volumes.
Since you're relatively new, I'll just leave this one at...From the mouths of babes...

Dr Detroit is apparently alive and well, living in Huskyland.
Which uni will you be wearing when we pound your bitch asses in that high school stadium of yours?
Does it matter? Sounds like Swooshy is "in somebody's dome."

And that's pretty funny, since every single freaking person I talk to on such matters always describes Fuskie Stadium as "an oversized high school stadium."

Aas opposed to the legendary Autzen, home to fooball, concerts, and...well...the things that make a stadium a stadium.

Are you sure you're not confusing Autzen with Parker/Reser? If not, I'll let you in on a secret...Reser is often referred to throughout the PAC10 as "the high school stdium."

But seriously Buddy -- enjoy your moment in the sun. Seize this opportunity to bask in your glory...

Maybe you should change your team name to "The Puppies"...because all you're doing is pissing like a puppy, and sure the fuck ain't running with the huskies.

Make your time.
