And there goes the third franchise....
And there goes the third franchise....
TO has ruined a season for. Welcome Cowboy fans to your demise. Oh, TO was going to be different. TO was going to keep his mouth shut and be a good boy. TO would not be a distraction. No one has heard any of that before.
Good bye Cowboy's 2006 season we hardly knew ye.
DUDE, GET THE PLAYMAKER THE BALL!
TO was quoted.......and so it continues. This season will self-destruct in.....

Yes, TO is frustrated w/ Role
News Flash. Come to practice doing training camp and dont be a side show every waking minute. He has shown nothing so far to make anyone think he has changed and yet he runs his mouth like he is the leader of that football team.

Just can't wait for the dude to really do something, can you.
Quit trying to manufacture controversy.
When it arises, it will be obvious for everyone to see.
This is just a frustrated played.

If the Cowboys are dancing around 6-10, I'd melt too.
Besides, Jim. Our fat coach is better than your fat coach. (except last Sunday). He'll drop the hammer on that shit.

Yep, there it goes... Into the endzone, 3 times in one half!

What makes the T.O. situation laughable is how eager some people are to crucify the dude. At times, to such an extent as they won't wait for him to do something worthy of crucifixtion.
I'm no TO apologist. I've been very critical of the guy. But for crying out loud, wait until the dude has done something worthy of being dubbed as "ruining a 3rd franchise". If he gets to that point, I'll be first in line to bash the dude. I've yet to actually cheer for the guy either.
He got in a spat with a recievers coach. Same guy he was hugging on the sideline on Sunday. He wants the ball more... 5 catches, 3 TD's? Think the dude might have a point?
My point is, settle down, he'll either implode in grand fashion, at which point it will be easy to see, or he won't. Quit trying to make mountains out of molehills because of your own desire to see either T.O. melt, or bad things happen to the Cowboys.

That "spat" he had with his coach has more legs to it than you care to realize. ESPN played a radio interview with Owens where he said he would never trust Haley again. If Owens didn't have Jones backing him up, Parcells would have cut him. It's not a media conspiracy, or them trying to dig up shit. It's Owens using the media once again to try and save face, but then fucking up and opening a festering wound even bigger.
Now, there was a report that Jones was gonna "punish" that assistant coach, not Parcells. How do you think that's gonna play out? Jones repremanding one of Parcells' staff for dealing with his troublesome mess?
Yeah, thats gonna make Parcells happy.
Now, everybody feels at ease because Owens caught 3 TDs against a shit team, when before that, he had just one catch in the first half. I guess his crticism of Bledsoe doesn't mean shit now, well, until they lose to a tougher defense. This reminds me of Owens' first season with the Iggles, where it was all good after he blew up at McNabb early in the season, with Owens crying the same tune he was crying last week. We all know how that turned out.
Torry Holt caught 3 TDs in a losing effort to the Seahawks yesterday also. one of them being the possible game winning score, a clutch catch under pressure. It was a fading Ram defense, and a long field goal that sunk them from being the division leader. Holt is one of the best receivers in the game, has a Championship ring, but you never hear him bitch, even when the Rams had all kinds of FO turmoil last season, as well as his question his former coach about his strategy in thier SB loss, where a lot of people did, not running Faulk more than he did. He just quietly goes about his job, and doesn't prop himself like Owens does. Holt also plays in a dynamic offense, where a lot of players get the ball, and doesn't demand that he is the primary focus either.
Owens throws players under the bus, and, after losing to a division rival, unraveled, and used the media to bitch about it, without holding himself accountable for shortarming errrrrr not playing well enough to help the team win.
I'd take Holt over Owens on any fucking Sunday.

Who the hell compared what kind of "person" T.O. is vs Tory Holt? No comparison. Holt is one of the VERY good guys, while T.O. is mostly a bag of shit.
You're not going to back me into being a TO apologist. I'm just saying his exploits have been magnified this year, and may or may not amount to a hill of beans. Quit jumping the gun to claim his melt down.

If anybody is gonna jump the gun on an Owens' meltdown, it's Owens himself.Headhunter wrote:Who the hell compared what kind of "person" T.O. is vs Tory Holt? No comparison. Holt is one of the VERY good guys, while T.O. is mostly a bag of shit.

I'm not trying to make you his apologist. I'm just pointing out that another WR that isn't Owens caught 3 TD's against a division rival, and his face wasn't planted all over the opening montage of Sportshows. The other WR didn't do anything against his division rival last week.
So out of those 2, whose exploits are magnified for doing thier job after this weekend?

Ok, but keep in mind why TO is in Dallas. Parcells is short timing it. He wants to get back to the Super Bowl. TO is a very talented reciever, who gives them a chance of accomplishing that goal. Jerry thinks Bill can manage TO. If not, they structured his contract as to never take more than 1 year loss.
Yes T.O. loves the spotlight. he screams for it, even. But every sports hack is a willing accomplice. T.O. doesn't write about himself. He isn't the program director for Sportscenter who decides to lead off every other show regaling us with tales of everything T.O does at any given juncture. Don't blame him for Holt getting stiffed. I'd put Holt in the HOF, as well as the hall of good guys. Hell, I'd trade T.O. for him right now, if I could! But that has nothing to do with the overexposure that is TO. I really wish the dude would shut his hole and play ball, but I don't think he's the cancer yet that he has been in the past. That day may come, but all I'm saying is wait for that day to come. Every week we get another thread in here about how TO is ruining the Cowboys, yet there they are in a log jam atop the NFC east.

Look, Owens craves positive attention when things go his way.Headhunter wrote:Ok, but keep in mind why TO is in Dallas. Parcells is short timing it. He wants to get back to the Super Bowl. When they don't, he creates negative attention on his team with his fukken mouth.
I dunno, if you can't take a 49er fans opinion (and Philly fan's as well) for what it's worth (which both fans of those teams have dealt with Owens' drama during his time with both teams), then hell, go with what you think.

I understand the argument. But wouldn't being 9er/philly fan make it a biased opinion? Ok, I'm just baiting now!
I think we've beaten this poor horse once again, let's let the nag R.I.P. for awhile!
