ND defensive end Ronald Talley has left the team

He was the guy that OSU fans will remember from the Fiesta Bowl. He had cleate marks all over his back from the amount of times Pittman ran by/over him.

Anyway, that means that there are 8 players that remain from Ty's second full recruiting class. The one after the Quinn, Zbikowski, Samardzija, Abiamiari class.

There is a starting RB (Walker), starting LB (Crum), back-up LB (Vernaglia), and a back-up DB (Lambert). Those are the only players that see significant time. The rest are burried on the depth chart.

This is the class that should/will be the backbone of the team next year. The ironic thing is that when ND struggles next season, we'll get to see all the articles about how Weis can't win without Ty's players, look at how Weis struggled too, etc.

They'll be right. No coach can win without players. The majority of the players who will play next year will be sophs and freshmen. Awesome.

Fuck you, Ty. Fuck you very much.

Anybody who says that Weiss can't win w/ out Ty' players should be shot.

Expect to by plenty of bullets for Dennis Dodd, Jason Whitlock, John Saunders, Jay Mariotti, etc.

I guarantee when ND starts 3-3 next year, that will be pounded in the media. The fact is, after this class there will only be 8 Ty players left. Awful.

Dennis Dodd is one of the biggest hacks in the land. Every piece of his is produced solely to stir up controversy. No way that asshat believes anything he writes. If Weiss leads the Irish to a 10-2 record and another BCS birth, he has def earned himself a "bye' for next year b/c I think everyone recognizes that is a transition season for them.

Killian, any idea why Talley left? I read the article on Yahoo, but they didn't give a reason.

Also, is this one of those things where he's just taking some time off, and could be back later?

No idea Terry. But he's not coming back. My guess is that he didn't see eye to eye with Weis about something.

Now ND is going to be even thinner along the defensive line next year
