Last year it was pink sticks now this:
Hey don't get me wrong, I like the fact that the players are doing things for charity. HOWEVER I am sick to death of the pink for breast cancer shit. Everywhere I go I see the pink ribbons for breast cancer.
What's the ratio of men to women who watch sports? Why doesn't the NHL do something for heart disease, the leading cause of death in American men? Or if they're set on cancer because of Mario's and Saku's run in with the disease, why doesn't the NHL start a wear a brown ribbon for prostate cancer campain? Why does it alway have to be breast cancer?
.PRETTY IN PINK
The Maple Leafs and Flames will star in their own versions of Pretty in Pink tonight.
Players on both teams will be sporting pink decals on their helmets during their Hockey Night in Canada matchup this evening to show their support for creating a future without breast cancer.
It's all part of Pink Ribbon Night, an event put together by the Maple Leafs, their wives and their partners in conjunction with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
The players wives and partners will join volunteers to collect donations at the Air Canada Centre tonight.
Fans can also take part in an online auction that starts at 7 p.m. tonight and runs through Oct. 23.
Auction items include Leafs game-worn Pink Ribbon Helmets and exclusive Pink Ribbon game jerseys.
