18500 murders in South Africa this year

according to the BBC, the murder rate is actually down 40% from last year

Doesn't that qualify them to be "sliding into civil war"?

Or is it a case of "if you can't blame it on Bush, it's not worth paying attenntion to"?

Actually, the white folks been outta power for quite some time. I'm guessing that the murder rate was one hell of a lot lower then.

Sounds like another country that would be "better off without" their current leadership structure.
