Thanks for messing with Karma Peter.

Fact is though ND has shown once again that they really don't belong in the BCS. Then again, neither does BSU, TCU, etc.

i've never thought Karl Dorrell was worth a shit. as OC at CU under Neuheisel, with the BRoncos, and now.

and i'm feeling pretty justified in that right about now. UCLA managed to put no pressure on Quinn and play terrible drop back coverage. nice combo.

Rack me.

I'm a prophet.
I only saw the UCLA punt w/1:30 or something left. Nothing before that. Lemmee guess... Dorrell went conservative on O.
Motherfuck, I can't stand ND and their lucky, bitch asses.

Their fans pretty muck suck too. Just wanted to throw that in there.

That's funny that you say that. I've got a buddy at OU right now who is a HUGE Bengals fan. Has been since I met him back when they sucked. He's Joe Fan, always talking about, "well, so-and-so is looking good. Maybe if we, blah, blah, blah.." Much like OU fans during the Blake era.

Anyway, his goal in life right now is to nail Ben Rothlisburger's sister now that she's at OU for basketball.

Oddly enough, this guy is just the kinda cat that could pull some shit like that off on accident too.

Overrated = West Virginia. They have not played shit for competition, and their big game versus Louisville is crap because Louisville looks like crap. They would probably marry crap if crap wanted to schedule them for an OOC game.

As far as I'm concerned the Big East winner will run the table and I'll still have 'em nowhere near my Top 5 since even by season's end their ridiculous schedule will assure that I'll still have no fucking idea how good or bad they are...

Tongue in cheek, Ken.

Truth is, every good team is going to have one (or more) ugly wins over the course of a season. UCLA was one of those for ND.

And if "ND really isn't all that," what would that say about Penn State? 41-17 ring a bell? (Btw, given that Penn State scored late, the game wasn't even really that close).

I guess after this weekend you could also spell "overrated", "Cal", "Tennesee", and "Texas". They all struggled with teams they should have put away early only to pull it out in the end.

ND may not be "all that", as you say, but they are a good team. From the 1860's until now, time and time again it has been proven that good teams win those types of games. Was a little bit of luck envolved? Sure. One thing remains certain. ND played like shit for 3 3/4 quarters on offense, and UCLA was playing their heart out. At no time did I root for UCLA.

6-1 is 6-1. If UofM kicked a last second field goal to win, and ND blew out UCLA, it would be the same record.

Uh, I can give you Cal and Tennessee who along with ND played unranked opponents at home. Texas however, went on the road to a ranked opponent whose field is generally regarded as one of the top 5 toughest places to play.

Not to mention the game was played in a rain storm that turned into a snow storm with strong winds.

:meds: :meds:

ND couldn't beat anyone in the top 10. probably not the top15, you have to actually stop good teams offense to beat top teams :jonsense:

and i will unload on their oponent in the bowl game, its stealing every year. seeing ND in a bowl game, is like having santa come down the chimney twice a year.. It's easy, simple, and your going to reap the rewards, usually before halftime. ND guarentees you'll be in bed by the 3rd quarter, while you dream about the $$ your bookie is going to pay you. God bless New Years and ND.

Lets not get carried away adel, I don't think they are as good as their BCS ranking but they are top 15 material. With that said I am beginning to think that the USC game is very much up for grabs.

A team that continually recieves bowl bids they obviously don't deserve as evidenced by recent record AND scores in said bowls is evidence enough that ND has been consistently overrated. If there ever was a time to end a post with this, this is it:

Period.

The USC game is very definitely up for grabs for ND. Hell, USC's two games directly preceding the ND game are up for grabs too. Until USC gets their offense on track and on the gas for an entire sixty minutes practically every game they play will be up for grabs.

And given that ^^^ consider USC overrated this year too.

Their ranking is a function of how much the rest of CFB is just kind of 'down'.

As of Saturday, I almost was thinking I would be cheering for USC in the ND game. Almost.

I'm pretty sick of the Heisman talk about Quinn. If anything, any Heisman talk about ND this year should go to their offensive line. Quinn is a decent little QB, but ... can the circle jerks at ESPN please stop with the ridiculous comparisons to Joe Montana?

Holy shit, this luck-ass team needs to lose. At the present rate of worship, the "experts" will have them playing the winner of the Mich-tOSU game in the MNC.

Most all the USC fans here have been saying USC is overrated this whole season, from the pre-season rankings forward. I never thought they should've been anywhere near a Top 5 team at the outset.

Only problem now is, well, fuck, other than Michigan and OSU I don't see anybody else out there who really ought to be ranked above USC. That's no great statement about USC either. Simply put, nobody else has stepped to the fore and with USC's SOS, their known talent level and their undefeated record, yeah, they've gotta be ranked no less than #3 right now.

Also, yep, I've been thinking the same thing about CF this season. It's definitely down, across the board. USC being ranked second or even third, a perfect case in point.

What else can we expect when so many of the very best players keep leaving early, in greater and greater numbers? Imagine Texas with VY and Ohio State with Santonio Holmes and USC with Reggie Bush, Lendale White, Darnell Bing, Taitusi Latui and Winston Justice (their two best offensive lineman). There's all sorts of teams around the nation who unexpectedly lost people prematurely. Fucks up a program's time tables, big time. The whole landscape of CF would look different if everybody who's supposed to be there this year were there.

This is a very recent phenomenon in CF, seeing this many underclassmen leaving early. In the same way that NCAA hoops is now severely watered down vs what it used to be this current CF season is a prime example of watered down play...

Vince is the first Texas underclassmen under Mack Brown to leave early :brad: and his leaving definitely watered down the play of this Texas team. I think we all know that had he come back it would have been 95 huskers all over again. But he did the right thing so only minimal tears.

I have a feeling that USC like several teams in the South are going to continually have this problem, there is too much hollywood surrounding that team (being the only football team in LA) too many people pulling those guys in too many directions.
