Chargers - Chiefs

Post by Mikey »

So far it looks like the Bolts are melting.
2 TO's in the first quarter is not a good thing.

Still early though.

Rivers is playing like he's scared. They need to run Michael Turner a few more times to soften things up a little.

That pass was a TD. He never hit the ground before crossing the line.

God and GOD I hate the "prevent" defense.

Game set and fucking match.

I guess I gotta RACK the Chiefs for holding on and pulling it out.

Again, some poor coaching decisions by the Bolts, and sloppy play in the first qtr really screwed them.

I agree with that. I expect the Chefs to come out fired up. Objectively though, the Bolts are a better team across the board, so they should squeak out an ugly win.
Couldn't agree more.

Rivers turnovers on the road led to a big deficit and the Charger Oline & D sucked. The Chiefs outplayed the Chargers most of the game, props Chief fan on a very good win.

No excuses here.

The Bolts allowed more TDs today against the shithole Chiefs than the Broncos have allowed ALL YEAR.

And you're still a fat fucking piece of shit and your fellow Chief fans are FUCKING IDIOTS for thinking you had ANY CHANCE against Pittsburgh last week. Dumbfucks.

Not sure if I'll be able to figure the Chiefs out this season. They haven't run the ball all year and then against one of the best front 7 in the league, LJ breaks loose.

The defense which looked horrible in Pitt against the run last week shuts LT down - but lets Rivers burn them for 266 and 2 TDs?

Is it just the Marty curse?

Who the fuck knows?

But then again, who saw Houston hammering J-Ville, or Pittsburgh giving up 4TDs to Ron Mexico?

Weird shit, man.

Here's a clue.

You don't pick against the Chiefs at home.

Unreal that you didn't see this coming, Scott.

Didn't say that - go look at my call - Thought it would be close and it was.

I don't know what Chiefs team we are looking at - we couldn't even run on the Cardinals, yet we bowl over SD?

I've shelved the myopia - Just really trying to determine if this is a competitve team or not

Gotta give props to the Chiefs on the win. I only saw part of the 2nd quarter sitting in the airport in OK City. From what little I saw it looked as if Jared Allen was schooling McNeil beating him around the corner on almost every play.

The much maligned KC offensive line pretty much dominated the line of scrimmage and the so called best front 7 in the NFL. LJ had his way with the vaunted Charger defense. A backup QB in Damon Huard posted a 108.5 Qb rating while racking up 250+ yards and 2 td's. The Charger's overrated #1 defense got pimp slapped yesterday. Not to mention a juiced up Shawn "Roids Out" Merriman had a less than stellar game.

They "dominated" the first quarter (only because of TO's) and the final minute, due to the Bolts' brilliant "prevent" defense.

I guess some people can't be satisfied with just a win, but have to show what ignoramuses they are by making ridiculous statements about "dominance". I guess margins of 3 points and 6 total yards points to domininance in Nix's myopic point of view.

Tell me how the Chiefs offense didn't dominate the Charger defense. Or you can just act like a fucking 2 year old and call me names.

355 total yards
LJ goes for 132 yards for a 4.7 avg with 2 td's
Huard throws for 232 yards, 2 td's and a 108.9 rating
An average of 6 yards per play
3 for 3 in the red zone
They take the ball on the 18 yard line with 33 seconds left and march down the field to get in field goal position

WTF does that have to do with the Chiefs OFFENSE kicking the ass of the Charger DEFENSE? The Chiefs defense didn't play well in the second half. The offense dominated the Charger defense. They couldn't stop them when it counted.

Did any of you read my post? I was speaking in terms of the Chiefs offense against the Charger defense. Nothing more, nothing less. The stats fucking prove it. My statement had nothing to do with the score, or the Chiefs defense blowing the lead. I realize the Chiefs barely won the game. I realize the Chiefs defense blew the lead. I said nothing about the Chiefs dominating anything other than the Charger defense. You could say the same for the Charger offense. Aside from the turnovers they kicked the Chiefs ass.

The Chargers had the number one defense coming into the game. Charger fan was pounding their chest like the Chiefs offense had no chance. The Chiefs came in and kicked the Charger defense in their overrated face. End of story.

More lying bullshit.

Their offense didn't "dominate" shit. Their offense was gifted with a short field off of turnovers in the first quarter. Those two early scoring drives totaled a "whopping" 43 yards combined.
The Chargers defense came into the game giving up 241 yards per game. The Chiefs had 355. The Chiefs also only ran 59 plays to the Chargers 71 and still out gained them. Use all the excuses you want. The offense of both teams dominated the defenses. 704 total yards between the two teams is pretty good evidence.

30 points is pretty good. Should have been 34. Oh and 3 for 3 in the redzone. Looks like they moved it once inside the 20's as well.

Speaking of Gifts. The refs gave the Chargers a gift on 3rd down when they called Ty Law for pass interference on an uncatchable pass. That gave the Chargers first and goal on the 1.

BTW, Law got away with an obvious interference on an earlier sideline play.

"Being spotted?"

Let me guess, Marty was telling Rivers and the OL, "Hey, let them think they're in it by 'spotting' them three turnovers, then we'll come back, OK?"

KC's defense had everything to do with those turnovers. And it should have been 17 (actually 9, according to your logic, in this thread). Granted, SD settled down, and had a few plays that worked out for them. (LT's screen-pass touchdown looked easier than a Sissyroo pileon). Then again, the 'Bolts were favored by 5.

You called it though, fucker. It was a sqeaker, just not the outcome you predicted. I just wonder how KC's offense would be performing if Green was at the helm. The defense is improved, even Bolt and Raider Fan has to admit that.
