Pats are quietly having a decent season while sorting out their passing game woes. I think that Brady & co will get it done on devil's night:
Patriots - 26
Vikings - 13
Thoughts anyone?

Stop the run and you guys win a pretty boring game. However if you let CT go off then you're in deep cah cah.
I think you stop the run.

Viks 13

Man I hope you are right. I am 19 points down going into tonight. I have Pats D and Ben Watson going. He has Chester Taylor. So I am hoping that they stuff him early, get the lead, and force Brad Johnson to beat them through the air. Wishful thinking I know.....
As a Pats fan this game worries me. The Vikes are pretty much an unknown to this point. The Pats will key on the run. Playing alot of 4-3 in this game I think. The Vikes injuries at receiver are the reason. I like the Pats 24-17.......

Vikes slow the Pat running game and create a couple of turnovers as Brady tries to do damage through the air.
Queens - 24
Patsies - 21

I just wanna say that Doug Gabriel is turning into a quality reciever.

Say what you will about Brady, but the guy is a freaking stud.
Oh, and this just in for those not paying much attention.
The AFC dominates the NFC.

Hmm...
The Patriots play on a different fucking level.
Not sure that I've ever witnessed this level before.
The rest of the league should be very afraid.

Makes for an interesting game next week at home vs the Colts. Another primetime night game as well.

The Patriots are the anit-Raiders.
They value strong play on both lines over most anything else.
Look at their D lineman, what are there? Three, four first rounders there?
A smart set of linebackers playing behind a dominant line doesn't hurt either.
Meanwhile they won a Super Bowl a few years back pulling dudes off the street to play DB for them.
This season they are playing a bunch of no names at WR and are doing just fine.
A few reasons IMO. First off Brady is a cool as a cucumber in the pocket, 2nd the line for the most part allows adequate time while being left on an island in 5 receiver sets, third the coaches put the team in the best position to succeed.
The Vikings are swallowing up the run this year? We will spread them out and go up and down the field.
Take away the strength of the defense and make them look like a bunch of high schoolers by games end.
With the exception of TE's for the most part skill positions are an afterthought in New England.
We base our team around WR's and DB's.
See the difference here?
Smart coaching and good execution.
I'm jealous.

I basically agree with all of your points, Mal, but it's fair to note that after Oakland's VERY GOOD O-line of the late 90's-early '00s got old, the Raiders tried to rebuild it by using it's 1st and 2nd round picks in the '04 draft on O-linemen (Gallery and Grove).
Most of Raider Nation jizzed.
They had also used a 2nd rounder on O-lineman (L. Walker) in '02.
But your point is pretty true.
Over the past 5 seasons these are the positions Oakland has drafted in the first 2 rounds:
CB, LB, O-line, CB, D-line, TE, O-line, O-line, S, CB, CB, LB, S

Holy shite, that was impressive.
Pats are gonna win another one if they keep playing like that.

Impressive performance by the Pats. I'll reserve judgement until I watch them against a real contender this weekend.

Could not have worked out any better. Chester Taylor does nothing and Ben Watson/Pats D comes through for the win......
As for the game that was a statement. The national media has been harping on the Pats for not having any receivers. Minnesota has a stout running defense. The Pats basically showed that their receivers are just fine and that if your going to take the run away we can beat you in the air. Very nicely done.....
I gave the Vikes too much credit and my team too little apparently. Bring on Indy. Very much looking forward to that game. Might even have a ticket too........

I wasn't looking for a response to my first post. I quoted it because it worked out exactly as it had to. Thats why I only wrote a single statement on my fantasy outcome. I was posting mainly about how I saw the game......
