Think of this silly herd of stranded horses as the American public. They're stranded by KNEE-DEEP water. What's keeping them from acting? From simply charging into the shallow water and fording the narrow stretch to land?

The courage of any one of them to act is overridden by the herd's cumulative fear.

Just like in American society where we're assured on the minute by FOX News and Dick Cheney that we are AT WAR and evil Terrorists are trying to kill us and blow up our planes and institute gay marriage and higher taxes on folks making over $450,000 a year...

So too are we standing in a stupid herd, allowing the most incompetent administration in history run up colassal debt, trash America's reputation, and rob us blind--and shred the constitution...

The herd is saved...sure, it wasn't easy, and it took a lot of outside help, but we Woke Up as a herd people on Nov. 7 and charged ashore...with Cheney and Rummy dead on the run!

I'm comparing the whole American public to the herd, not just Dems. Perhaps horses are far too noble a beast, but I like happy endings. Like Rummy getting trampled, etc.
