They played their asses off and the buckeyes were lucky to get out with the W. The better team won, and the team that wanted it more lost.. Looks like both UM and OSU were looking ahead.. look for a big rebound next week.
those 2 LB's 47 and 44 for ILL were money today, they should play on Sunday..
go bucks

Yes, Illinois layed some big hits today and played above their paygrade. They impressed me and OSU looked subpar for the first time this season. I know it wont happen again but if they play like this over the next three games they will get their asses handed to them.

Buckeyes better secure O-line issues. Pass protection sucked out loud.

Think Michigan and Ohio State are looking past these games a bit?

Ohio State didn't nearly make the same number of mistakes as Michigan did. Illinois and Ball State both played hard. The Buckeyes still held the Illini under their thumb for the majority of the game. Michigan took their foot off the pedal after going up by 22 points in the third quarter. I expect Indiana and Northwestern to be a couple of bastards to play against next week for the Wolverines and Buckeyes. These aren't top flight opponents leading up to the monster game but they should at least test the effort of these two teams. If they play half-assed, they'll have to hang on for dear life. Troy Smith continues to be a great game manager...I don't look for the Buckeyes to give a game away like Michigan is more likely to do. That's something to look for in two weeks...which team avoids the costly turnover.

Illinois is definitely the hard-luck story of the year, it seems they lose a close-one every freaking week. I'd like to see them actually pull one out before the season is through. Props to them for hanging in there despite a horrid record.

i have a feeling IU won't be much of an issue for scU-M on saturday. scU-M learned its lesson today about not coming in focused for each and every game and IU just got their asses kicked in what will probably shape up to be the biggest loss of the season for them. with upcoming games against purdue and scU-M, IU's bowl hopes pretty much went down the shitter today.

I would consider Purdue beatable for Indiana. They really haven't done much. Indiana has a credible shot at 6-6.

yeah, purdue is beatable for IU. then again, you never know which IU team will show up. they could win that game easily or they could let painter throw for 5 tds and 350 yards.

My old man went to Illinois. Poor guy felt like today was a W. Interesting stat though...Illinois lost by an average of 30 a year ago. They are now losing by an average of 7. Old guy feels good about that.
A lot of us should be counting our good fortune right now...

While I appreciate that, I think we both looked like crap today. Ball St and Illinois played great but each and every week, most teams play us as hard as they can. So to have games like this, IMO, means we weren't playing like we should have. Still, this game reminded me why I hate Ron Zook.
Stat of the game:
Pittman 32 carries for 58 yards 1 TD
OSU better get their act together if they want to run at all against UM. If not, Troy will have to be Heisman like to win that game.
And dammit, sit Chris Wells for the rest of the season.

fuck you pete,
its really sad how you guys want so bad to be considered GREAT. and, sure, you are unbeaten, so, I agree you are the number one team in the nation.
BUT, shut the fuck up about ohio st. and michigan being so great and powerful, and shut the fuck up about the ohio st. / michigan game being the national championship game, its not, its just another rivalry game.
after watching michigan squeak by who? ball st.? and ohio st. barely scraping by who? illinois?
wanna know something really funny?
nebraska somehow facing texas again in the big 12 title game, and maybe beating texas.
THEN, ohio st. beats michigan, and, the football gods somehow make sure that michigan and nebraska meet again, and you know what? im pretty sure that michigan doesnt want that.
actually, I think I am wrong here, if nebraska somehow wins the big 12, we'd be in a bcs game. therefore, we'd have to lose the big 12 title game to texas, THEN, maybe we get a bowl game against FSU. which would be even nicer, beating the faggott seminoles,
either way, come january, nebraska is gonna fuck some team in the mouth.
see, michigan and ohio st. dont impress me at all, as a corn fed stud nebraska fan, how could I be impressed ? ball st.? illinois? you guys barely survive? OH, I see, you were looking ahead? yeah right, fuck you, go play each other in a couple of weeks, in that faggott rivalry game you have, THEN, bring the loser of that contest to nebraska in january, in a bowl game, and we will fuck you in the mouth,
DID YA HEAR ME?
I said, go play your faggott rivalry game, THEN, the loser of that game, come meet nebraska come bowl time, fuck the big ten, bunch of pussies.

Care to pool the forum concerning the outcome of USC-Nebraska?
Oh, wait. Nevermind.
Okay then, how 'bout Nebraska-Okie St?
Fuck!!
Umm, Nebraska-Texas??
Jeez, this is kinda difficult.
I got it!!
Nebraska vs...Nicholls St!
Nebraska vs...indoor plumbing!
Nebraska vs...bestiality!
Wait. Dammit. Other than the Nicholls St battle, do we consider those other two wins or losses??
Fuggit. Nebraska handled La Tech. Good enough for me.

You are so adorable.
Nevermind the fact that there is virtually no way Michigan can play Nebraska in a bowl game (Michigan can't lost 4 games when there are only 2 left) I don't think Michigan is afraid of your Little Red's.
If Michigan losses to Ohio State they are going to the Rose Bowl to play Cal or USC. When Nebraska losses to Texas you are going to the Alamo bowl again to play...Indiana.
I like Indiana in that game.
Go Hoosiers.

That's 'cuz it's a fait accompli that the OSU-Michigan winner is not only in the title game, but a huge favorite in the title game.
There's no clear "other opponent" option, much less a clear worthy "other opponent" option.
We're left to muddle through potential crap like the Big East winner and a bunch of very undistinguished one loss teams.
Why?
The NFL took all the glitz and glimmer from this '06 CF season when all the best players left early and deprived us all of the dream match ups this season otherwise would've had to offer.
Think I'm exaggerating? Okay, ask yourself this: How high would the excitement level in CF (and on this board) be right now if VY was still wearing burnt orange? The winner of that early season Texas-OSU game (with OSU still having Santonio Holmes and all their key underclassmen) would be an absolute monster of an undefeated team right now and they'd be staring at a BCS title game match up (or, even better, a BCS title game re-match) with a senior laden undefeated USC squad filled with pissed off, revenge minded types like Reggie Bush and LenDale White...all these players, all these marquee players, stars, seniors now, preparing to play in their final collegiate game.
Think there'd be just a bit more excitement brewing 'round these parts right about now?

first, where does nebraska have 4 losses?
second, if nebraska does beat texas in the big 12 title game, it seems to me, that beating michigan wouldnt be far fetched, considering that michigan had trouble putting away ball st. AT HOME?
now, what is this I hear about you taking indiana over nebraska in a bowl game?
care to put some serious jack on that?
cause if nebraska were to play indiana in a bowl, I'd take your house, your car, and the cheap shirt off your faggotty back,
BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA, blind ref, the big ten faggotty boy, it seems that blind ref doesnt know about recent history concerning the big ten vs. nebraska in bowls,
need a refresher course? dumb fuck?
nebraska vs. big ten co-champs northwestern, 66-10, blood rape,
nebraska vs. michigan st. 23-3,
nebraska vs. meeeeeeechigan, just a few months ago, we fucked ya!!!!!!!!!!!
which big ten ten pussy is next? WHOS NEXT? step up faggotts from the big ten,
oh, keep in mind, all those nebraska teams were mediocre at best,
but no matter, when you play anybody from the faggott big ten, its a joke,
