He's a Uniter Person Guy.

We'll see how the Dems respond to this conciliatory gesture. My guess will be tactlessly.

Jack Reed was interviewed on Ed Schultz today, and said some very conciliatory things about both Rummy and Bush, while also touting this as a positive move. I also heard an audio clip of Nancy Pelosi pledging bipartisanship during the same show.

He's a liar, and he's desperate!

He either lied last week about sticking with rummy, or he lied this week when he said he didn't want to upset the election.

My guess? Last week he laid an ultimatum at rummys feet. If the repubs lose control, rummy throws himself under the bus, in a way to placate the incoming dems, who hated rumsfeld.
otherwise, if the repubs held on, no announcement, business as usual.
He HAD to have prepared for this eventuality. Rummys successor was ready and waiting

After 6 years of Bush shoving his agenda up their asses and his arrogance in their faces, what else would you expect?

A little bloodletting at the least.
