Paterno

Post by Sky »

So, since he is missing the game this week does it still count towards the all time wins category? I know he is still the coach but if he is not actually coaching them on gameday (some would say he doesn't do that at all) does it count towards his record?

And to take that further, although hypothetical...

Had Penn State beat tOSU this year would that have counted as 0.5 of a win, since JoePa spent the majority of the second half on the shitter?

He's on the payroll. He is the coach. It counts.

yeah, while for an OU fan, i like Eddie more than most to say the least......that was a pretty iffy BS decision by the OSU AD (?) trying to get to 800 wins or whatever.

I *could* see a more plausible argument made in Joe Pa's favor......he's just hurt, put him in the booth. not incapacitated railing for soup crackers.

Trust me, Paterno will be coaching this week. He will be in the booth or somewhere, driving the assistants batty, which he usually does from the sidelines.

A sidebar in this leg/knee injury thing...a few weeks back, some players blindsided Joe during practice. He got up and kept coaching. When they checked him out last weekend after the leg injury, they found that he'd broken some ribs. Not too remarkable, I guess...unless you're 79 years old. He's a tough old bastard.
