Other than political threads? Working on my 3rd Icehouse here. Thinking about switching to a snifter of some old Gran Marnier I have on the counter.

Couple Yuenglings and a some spicy tuna rolls.
Was just out your way today, PM. Family and I headed out to Cocoa Beach for the day. Had I known the Space Shuttle was being propped up, perhaps the son and I woulda made the trip out there.

i'm particulary waiting for tardowen to seal the deal and off himself. hopefully he'll do it in such a fashion it'll be reported quickly, because the two best parts about the board is that it's a source of 1) scat pics and 2) breaking news updates.

It was pretty damn nice out today. How was the surf? Going to try and catch some Pompano tomorrow with the Podge.

I'm at Cocoa Beach 1 day out of every 365. I have nothing to gauge the surf on. Nothing.

There were waves, they were wet.

It was a spectacular day though.

Yeah, windows are open and 74 degrees according to my epic indiglo thermostat. Pair of gymshorts and a Bike Week 2006 t shirt on. Watching some old Dokken vids and sipping on number 4.

You know, I really would have considered this, but for that "flooding" thing...not conducive to good late-season/winter golf. I think we're done WAY before 6 these days, though...5:20olf's done, I think.

Not that I won't bust out the "scuffers" and hack away until dark on a twighlight special, or anything.

Golf gets tough this time of year in the northern reaches of the country, with such limited, and such inconvenient hours of light. Fuck that whole communist daylight savings BS.

Makes it sweet in the summer, though.

I actually worked that one.

All that got toasted was the entrance and a gift shop though. Place will probably be open in a couple of weeks.

What made it worst was my buddies and I had to walk the 9 since all of the carts were being used. We played about 7 holes before it got too dark to see. The 8th hole, we just played best ball and on the 9th, we just walked to the green and putted out. $8 for 9 holes ain't shabby though...they had a deal for $10 for 9-and-a-cart. It was too nice outside to pass up this opportunity to play one more time before we get blasted with snow for a few months.

I'll be 1,000 miles removed from Gatorland when it reopens.

Has some flank steak rolled with a mixture of portabello mushrooms and bacon.

Finished off most of a 2002 Rioja Sierra Cantabria Crianza.

Now I'm going to take a couple of Benadryls, a couple of Advils and a handful of Vit C's and try to sleep off this cold.

I kicked myself for not taking my clubs to work today. We have a 5-hole course that surrounds our office and gardens that is basically a turf research project but we can all play on it for no charge. The marshall comes around at least once a week to ask me when I'll be out again...and he's kind of creepy..."Ang, when are you coming out to play again?", but it's all ok so I hope for the weather to keep up and to remember to take my clubs to work. I played the course alot last spring and kept my clubs in the car for after work golf, but once the temps went to 100 and more in the summer I just put my clubs in the house and forgot about it. This time of year it's much better but dark after work, so would have to go in early, and with me as an insomniac....that's not gonna happen!

I'll play in the spring when there is daylight in the evening, in the tradition of twilight golf looking for discount green fees...no matter that it's free now :)

You mean it's not pitch black at 5 in your neck of the woods? You pussies on the west edge of the eastern time zone don't know how good you got it.

I don't think daylight savings time has any effect on the time of sunset at this time of year. DST on affects times during the summer.

Yeah, I understand that. "Daylight Savings" just sounded a little more glamorous that "Pacific Standard Time."

It's all "daylight wastings time" to me. I believe the clock changes should be dynamic, and should cater to my immediate needs that day.

yeah. if it's a shitty day, you're at work, it's raining, you should be able to just shut down the sun and bank the left over daylight for another time.
