last night Oregon was awarded a TD after about a 15 minute delay and 2 instant replay reversals, from the game it looked like the second reversal was total bullshit. I just watched the game again and it WAS total bullshit
The original ruling was that Jonathon Stewart had stepped out of bounds on his own and then came back inbounds and caught a pass for a TD
after a 5 minute delay and the TD being over ruled because he had gone out of bounds, Oregon challenged an instant replay ruling
15 minutes later they ruled that the ball was tipped by a USC defender and this made Stewart an eligable receiver again.
after seeing 15 replays that they showed before the second ruling, it was obvious that no USC defender tipped the ball, it went off an Oregon receivers hands, the Fox broadcast didnt show any replays after that second ruling but Replay TV did the job for me.
Are these the same replay officials that worked the Oregon-Oklahoma game and if so, how much is Phil Knight paying them?

Dude, #58 CLEARLY tipped the ball near the line of scrimmage.
Which replays were YOU watching?
That was bullshit, but there was no conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the field in the first place. Absolutely none.
Considering the score and the outcome of the game, the point was moot, but that whole deal was botched from the get-go. I won't be so homer(sup socaltrojan) as to say that ANYBODY could tell anything conclusively from those replays, but it was ruled a TD on the field. While there may or may not have been an illegal touch or two on the play, fr you to sit there and claim to be able to tell anything conclusively from those replays is a ludicrous bit of homerism. Just like if I said "no, he was unquestionably inbounds after the ball was tipped."
It would be dishonest for either of us to make such statements...which is why I didn't. The majority of those replay angles don't even show either Kent or Stewart's feet, for chrissake.
I got 99 problems but the 'vid ain't one
