Bet Against the Bookie - Week 11
Posted: Tue Nov 14, 2006 3:13 am
ALL BETS ARE FOR FUN, NO REAL MONEY IS INVOLVED!!!
For those who don’t know how it works, I’ll try to explain it the best I can. Bookies don’t care what NFL team wins in a particular game. They want 50% of the gamblers money on one team and the other 50% on the other team. Bookies make their money (10%) off the 50% that lose. That’s why the odds line moves up and down before the game is played. (We’ll be at a bit of advantage because our line will not move.)
Example:
Two players bet on the same game but pick opposite of each other. Both players have to bet $110 to win $100. If player A wins he/she gets the $110 back and wins $100 for a total of $210, player B lost the game and loses the entire $110, the bookie paid out $210 but took in $220, therefore the bookie comes out ahead $10
A push is a push and the player gets all of his/her money back, neither the bookie nor the player wins.
You can bet zero to five games, there will be no penalty for not particpating or missing any number of weeks.
To make math easy for me, all bets must be made in any of the following amounts…
$11, $22, $33, $44, $55, $66, $77, $88, $99, $110, $121, $132, $143, $154, $165, $176, $187, $198, $209, $220
You can’t bet over a total of $100 per week unless you have it covered over $1,100 in your account. Right now everyone’s account is at $1,000
($11 to win $10) ($22 – $20) ($33 – $30) ($44 - $40) ($55 - $50) ($66 – 60) ($77 – $70) ($88 - $80) ($99 - $90) ($110 - $100) ($121 - $110) ($132 - $120) ($143 - $130) ($154 - $140) ($165 - $150) ($176 - $160) ($187 - $170) ($198 - $180) ($209 - $190) ($220 - $200)
