Seriously, Michigan vs. Ohio State???

Who have they played? Ball state and a 7 point win?(It'd be nice to have a Ball State on the schedule)

Texas? Hell, K-State beat Texas by a similar amount as tOSU.

$C beating mighty Arkansas 50-14... and Cal going into a stadium to open the season(Neyland) where an OOC team hasn't beat them to open the season in the last 35 years. Psst... Cal had a soph. qb that hadn't played a full D1 game in his time in college.(sup' Colt McCoy) Re: Ohio State.

Oh yeah, Cal has the 2nd toughest schedule in College Football... so the computers say.

Cal has two of the most electrifiying players in College Football... hands down. The team speed of these 2 teams will blow your mind!

Make your call... in the real "Game of the Week"!

It'll be cool to see who eats their words, and who really knows about where the real College football is played...(the computers) have the Pac 10 as the toughest in the country.

This is why we play the games... and why I need to get to the liquor store before it closes.

Yeah, these late-season No. 1-2 matchups of undefeateds shaping the entire BSC landscape are pretty overrated.

USC "by 20."

Blah blah blah, I don't often root for USC but I might this week.

That is funny...

Cal is the only team in the country to open the season at "Neyland" with a soph. qb that has never played a full D1 game.

The toughest road game in the country(sup' SEC you can come out west).

Being that Ohio State is a "White Trash" school and could drop another "Beast" light and pick it up in Neyland (Cal went 3,000 miles to open the season). Why has Ohio State over the last 100 or so years... never gone to Neyland to open a game????

Pussy's say what?

Fuck it's a drunk ride in a yugo of a few hours away!!!

Believe me... If Ohio State was a few hours away from Berkeley! We'd have played you more than never!

Sit down "Trash"... actually, take your own ass out this time.

Shit for brains... you live in a trailer in Las Vegas, and you're raiderfan.

What would you know about the Pac 10 and education? McDonalds still has gotten in as a school.

Does your "mexican" ass know that Arizona had just blasted Washington State in Washington the week before, and have one of the best Defenses in the Pac 10 now????

You do know Cal plays SC this week, and may have been looking ahead of the "Arizona" game which was robbed from them by the Pac 10 "officials".

Fuck it, go get me some 'fries" Raiderfan.

What? Do you mean to say Cal was the ONLY team to play against Tenn that night? There weren't four or five teams on the field at the same time? WTF?

Toughest road game my ass. If you had won the rest of your games, you might have some argument, but you couldn't do that could you.

Of course this can all be attributed to Tenn stealing play calls from the sideline and Zona getting all the calls.

Ok... I understand you went to osu, and reading and comprehension are not required...so let me help you out.

Ohio State is just around the corner from Knoxville... and have NEVER gone into Knoxville to open a season.

My bad ... if 120 odd years isn't enough time to make it to another POWER football school to play a game.

Like I said... If Ohio State was just down the road... Cal would have played you 50 times!!!

Oh that's right, you went into "Pothead U"(not that it's a bad thing) Austin... with a Senior qb and Heisman trophy canidate!

Nothing like a "State" education.

Tougher road opener? How about USC at Arkansas? Would you say Arkansas (9-1) is better than Tenn (7-3)? Probably not because your myopic mind thinks everything Kal is better. Or how about ND at GT? Would GT (8-2) beat Tenn (7-3)? Probably not, right. Because any team that beats Kal must be on their way to the national championship to face a 4-loss Kal team. So rather than seeing a OSU vs UM rematch in the national title game, lets just schedule Kal vs. Tenn. Or would you like to see Arizona again? You know it would kind of be like a home game for AZ and seeing as the road has treated you so well, maybe you want to get whupped by Tenn again.

Any more questions fucko?

Really? Without their best player? McFadden?

How would osu be without Troy Smith???

Right. You may not be as stupid as you seem.(not referencing the fact that you live in a desert)

Yeah... how about this one. The one Jimmy Meds made you think was true.(because you and some other idiots believe whatever you're told) It's been funny to me, and I've let it ride... but since you brought it up. I'll call you on it.

Sky wrote:Because any team that beats Kal must be on their way to the national championship to face a 4-loss Kal team.
Find a post where I even came close to saying that... mkay?

If you can't? Which will be the case... get your Jimmy Meds knee pads out, and we'll take it from there.

if you knew anything shit for brains you would know that tOSU and KAL are going to play in the future...let's see how your pussified golden shower uniforms do in the SHOE...playing in Berkley for tOSU will be like playing the spring game...

shut the fuck up

tOSU went on the road and beat Texas, beat Iowa when they were actually playing well

Michigan beat ND and Wisconsin

Kal has beaten whom again? Lost to Tennessee who now has THREE FUCKING LOSSES and of course they lost to ARI FUCKING ZONA...

Name a tougher opening game in the country than Cal traveling 3,000 miles to open a game in Neyland??? With a soph. qb that had never played a complete D1 game???
USC going into Jordan-Hare to play #6 Auburn (#1, in one poll), with sophomore Matt Leinart playing his first game in CF? The following year that same basic cast of Auburn players went on to run the table and get screwed out of a BCS title game shot...

How 'bout that one? See, Tennessee was only ranked 17th or 19th or whatever it was and they've gone on to show that nope, they really weren't much better than their initial ranking. The highlight of their season remains that mudhole they stomped into Cal.

On the other hand, well, USC went in and shut out Auburn. They...won the game. They also killed this year's SEC leader in their own house, in their season opener, with USC's QB (among many others on the field that day) again playing his first game.

In '04 USC opened up against Va Tech, in their own backyard...and won.

That's the part Cal still needs to learn. It's not good enough to schedule a tough roadie. No, you also have to win your tough roadies, otherwise you're just Troy or Rice.

One other thing about Tennessee and this notion that they haven't lost an OOC opener at home in 35 years. Great. Now, look over the list of teams they've played as their OOC home opener for those 35 years...

Duh. No wonder they haven't lost in 35 years. Who was supposed to beat 'em? (Besides Cal... :-) ) It's not like Tennessee's been scheduling Ohio St, Nebraska, ND and USC as their OOC home openers...

Lastly, I will give m2 credit for one salient point: Neither Ohio St nor Michigan have really played that tough of a schedule. Michigan's lone marquee wins came against ND and Wisconsin, both of whom might be considered highly overrated. Certainly, neither team owns a really good win thus far this season. Ohio St's lone marquee win came against a very spotty Texas team playing a redshirt freshman QB in his first real game.

This is still the definite #1 vs #2 matchup of the season and a game deserving of all the hype but yeah, it's not like either team's really been put to the test very much by their schedules this season.

Oh, and speaking of hype, have any of you people seen the ESPN ad for this game, the one with Brent Musberger doing a voice over against a backdrop of gathering stormclouds or whatever...

"In this new millenium this is finally the game of the century!", or some such nonsense...

Dude, last year's Rose Bowl?? Just this past January?

Remember? Pretty eagerly anticpited game starring a decent player or two from each side? Pretty big programs there? History on the line, and all the marbles too?

No Lloyd Carr, as far as the eye could see?

Remember that Rose Bowl match up there, ESPN? They really don't come any bigger than that, period, much less should we even be attempting to compare a mere regular season game to that one...

Both games were/are big. I see your point about regular season games v. BCS Championship games..... but since it's college football...... I think that's debatable.

It's widely accepted that the OSU V. UM rivalry is the biggest in the sports universe. For these two teams to meet - undefeated and 1 v. 2 for the first time - I don't see how a regular season game could ever be bigger.
