Has a #1 team ever played the #2 team three times in one year? I ask because if OSU wins, they would play three #2 teams. I doubt it has been done and it doesn't really prove anything but it would be a nice feather in the cap.

You won't see a 3rd if you don't take care of business on Saturday...to answer your question, I honestly don't know if it has ever happened. Any football historian want to do some research on it, knock yourself out. And if you're a BuckeyeFan...honestly, knock yourself out.

Along those lines, during the 1988 season ND beat #1 Miami on 10/15/88, #2 USC on 11/26/88, and #3 West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl on 1/2/89.

1971
Nebraska beat AP #9 Colorado on 10-30-71
AP #2 Oklahoma on 11-25-71
AP #2 Alabama on 1-1-72
I bring this up only because the final AP rankings after bowl games was
1. Nebraska
2. Oklahoma
3. Colorado
4. Alabama
