Finally
Now if Bobby, Dickey, Sexton and Jody Allen can please do the same.

The school had skirted a nepotism policy by having the younger Bowden report to another coach on the staff other than his father.
ponderous.

DEAR LORD.....
I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SAY THIS......
JEFF BOWDEN MADE THE RIGHT CALL.......
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
My, oh, my, what a wonderful day.
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way,
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!
Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder,
It's the truth, it's "actch'll"
Everything is "satisfactch'll."
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
My, oh, my, what a wonderful day.
Plenty of sunshine headin' my way,
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay!
Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder,
It's the truth, it's "actch'll"
Everything is "satisfactch'll."
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
Wonderful feeling, feeling this way!
Mister Bluebird's on my shoulder,
It's the truth, it's "actch'll"
Everything is "satisfactch'll."
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay,
Wonderful feeling, wonderful day!
Wait, wait wait.....who is the replacement? I swear dear god if Bobby hires within the program I am going to be pissed. Those dumbasses underneath Jeffy were just as bad if not worse.

Bobby must also go. Clearly he has shown that he can't "bag a good OC". Additionally, FSU needs a complete offensive make over and I don't see Bobby bringing in some one who is going to re-vamp his 1980s I formation attack. Even if he did he would muddle where not needed and have to many cooks in the kitchen. The game has passed the ole boy by. Sure he could stay on as a front man but anyone worth a piss would'nt come here as OC unless he had complete control and could bring in his own staff- something Bobby would'nt agree to.
I don't see anyone on the current O staff that mertits keeping around.
BTW CRown, in all seriousness I give you credit for throwing up a post with out with out making an ass out of your self.

Word.
If FSUfan thinks this is the answer, they'rein for a sore awakening, imo. Jeffey is only the beginning of the problem and a case could be made that he ain't the problem.
Not sayin' anything new, but FSU's o-line is and has been terrible. Good luck running ANYTHING behind that. I'm convinced Rix and Weathorford are not as bad as everyone believes. Their subpar performances are a function of the o-line, not their abilities.
Dance now, FSUfan... but don't get too high, the fall will be hard.

Congrats FSU-fans. Wouldn't surprise me if there isn't another change or two before all is said-and-done. Jeffy was just the biggest change. I wonder if he just admitted that he sucked or dad finally had to act for the common good. If Jeff actually nutted-up and took himself out then props for that.

I tried to tell TheChief and Nolesy that along time ago and they said I was an idiot.
Fuck that. I am with you. Please dear god hire Coach Hatcher from Valdosta State. He could be our next HC if hired at OC.

He did. Which is suprising.....
"The decision he made today was not one that he wanted to make," said Keith Jones, who played for the elder Bowden in the late 1970s and now serves as a color analyst on Seminoles telecasts. "To his credit, it was one he made for the benefit of the program."

No way BB forced this. He's stood steadfast behind his son through all of this. As a matter of fact, didn't Jeffey ask to resign last year and his dad wouldn't let 'im?

Yeah, supposedly Bobby talked him out of it.
I wouldnt mind seeing Chris Hatcher get the job. Names like Fedora (Ok St) and Jimbo Fisher(LSU) are being thrown out, but I dont see them making a lateral move.

We'll never know what happened behind closed doors, of course. But according to the article, Bobby tried to talk Jeffy out of resigning. If that's true, under the category of "first time for everything," Jeffy deserves mad props.

You two are both crazy IMO. For the last 5 years everyone has been screaming get rid of Jeff Bowden. Even you two. Now he's gone and you want discuss the O-line and woulda/coulda/shoulda for Rix and Weatherford (dumb decisions/slow IMO). Can you prove any of that fodder or is it all opininon? How about just relax and hope that FSU hires a great mind to run the offense. We all know that bobby hasn't been coaching for about 10 years, so sit back and lets see who FSU hires. Hatcher would be a great addition IMO T, so we do agree on one thing.

At this point the best case scenario I see is to bring in Hinshaw from the tenn. titans as OC. along with an entire new O staff of his choosing.
He is some one Bobby knows and will relinguish some control to. Hinshaw will keep the D coaching staff intact. He was rumored to come here a few years ago but there was a "behind closed doors" deal breaker- I suspect it was he would not share equal control with Jeff Bowden.
It is true that Jeff sacked up and resigned on his own-props to him. Apparently he tried to do this a few years ago and pops talked him out of it.
I have long felt that the O line was soft. I think we need to go out and get some guys with assault and battery records.

Nolesy, from what I have heard, Henshaw was going to be brought in to be the Oline coach and help out on Offense 2 years ago. It was pretty close to being done, but Bobby told Henshaw he would have to report to Jeff instead of him and Henshaw wasnt having that.

Crown, you may be on target there. It was before McHale was brought in. It seemed like a done deal but as time went on no anouncement was made and it fell of the radar. I suspect it had something to do with the pecking order and where Hinshaw ranked opposed to Jeff.

That's why all coaches should stay away from nepotism. It ruined Bobby's legacy. He'll be lucky to have another 8 win season before he retires/dies.

Florida State offensive coordinator Jeff Bowden received a $537,000 buyout from the school’s boosters to resign.
The settlement was revealed Wednesday when the school released a copy of the agreement Bowden’s attorneys reached with the university and its boosters.
The little prick. Too bad the boosters didn't buyout the rest of the offensive staff.
Now, I can see BB reacting in one of two ways (among others):
1. Being pissed at the boosters 'bout this and digging his heels in even more, OR
2. Being pissed at the boosters, saying screw it, and giving the boosters a collective middle finger and resigning.
However he feels, I can't see him being happy 'bout the boosters undermining his authority and staff.

I am sure he is pissed. Money talks though. Not too many people are going to cry if Bobby resigns. It's time for him to step down anyway. FSU needs new blood.

Congrats on this, FSU fan. I know it has been a long time coming.
As for his replacement, I obviously have no ties or inside info when it comes to FSU, but I think they should take a hard look at Michael Haywood for the job.
As much as I would hate to see him leave ND, I think he could be talked into it if FSU missed on some other top of the line candidates and was willing to open the check book. Even though he is an ND grad, I think Haywood wants to be a head coach and currently is not calling the plays for ND.
He is an excellent running back coach and a great recruiter, so I'm sure he could help FSU regain a rushing attack. He's learned under Weis, Mack Brown and Nick Saben. While not a sexy choice, FSU could do much worse if they are turned down by other, bigger names.
I know it's unlikely to happen, but I know ND will lose him soon, likely for a HC job somewhere. But he may be willing to leave for a few years to be able to call the plays.

Interesting. Does he have a Bio page at the ND Atheltic site?
