D2 Football Bracket

I know e and TTB will be up for a sig bet or a pickem of some sort.

UNA will have tough games in the regionals vs. NCC or DSU, in the semifinals vs. GV or ND, and in the finals vs. NWMST.

I think it is NWMST to lose this year. They returned about everyone and have the easiest road to the finals.

BTW, the semifinals are on sunday night this year and will be shown on ESPN.

I still laugh every time I see this pic on their website as this dude is a good friend of mine.

I gotta rack those teams as winning 3 national championships in a row ain't easy to do in any league.

booo! hey, this isn't coming from you, obviously, but i'm sick and fucking tired of these GV idiots claiming they could beat WMU or any of the other dregs from the mac. eastern michigan would beat them by 50 in allendale.

I don't know any LakerFans that say that but that is pretty stupid...I am impressed this team is back in the playoffs unbeaten and defending their national championship even with Kelly leaving for CMU a couple years ago. This wasn't a program that just had a great team for one year and then fell off the face of the earth...they've got a monster up in Allendale.

Pitt State sucked this year. Zero defense, all Germaine Race on offense. Other than a rivalry game, it wasnt a big game at all.

NWMST should coast into Florence. Chardon St is undefeated but is basically only a running team which NWMST usually destorys with their front 7. The only weakness in NWMST is there pass D. Which the other side of the bracket is chalk full of good pass teams. The NE region has been horrible since the GLIAC left to the NW region. Should be a good final b/t NWMST and whoever plays them.

UNA needs to work on going for the throat. Every year since Hudspeth got to UNA, he will get a two score lead and try to sit on it the rest of the game. Its why we lossed the semifinal last year and about lossed the VSU game this year.

GVSU is the defending champs but somehow I see them stumbling along the way. If they somehow survive the game they struggle in, I think they will repeat as champs.

UNA starts off against Newberry.

I will enjoy watching the lions destroy a team ripping off FSUs helmet.

BTW, Newberry Indians? How come the NCAA didnt come down on them?

I went to the game and it was a beautiful day in Braly Municipal Stadium

UNA beat Newberry 38-20.

Newberry had a great offense. UNA keyed on their stars but a guy who hadnt made a contribution all season just lit us up with receptions.

It was a battle.

UNAs starting QB(AJ) and Kicker(Yuta) got hurt in the game. I hope they are ready for this week.

UNA will be playing conference rival Delta State on CSS at 1:30. If you get CSS, tune in for some good D2 football.

Hey e, just wondering what connections you have with NWMSU? My brother went there many years ago and he bought a house in Maryville where he lived and raised three kids. I spent many a day there visting and we almost moved there ourselves at one point. Very nice little college town. They recruited my daughter heavily for softball, but she turned them down saying that she didn't want to attend a "party" school. Pity.

Go Bearcats!

Haha...

I felt like i was in tallahassee at the 89 Miami game all over again.

Post-Rap ass whooping.

All day long DSU fans were chanting Cant Stop Us(the name of the rap) even while UNA players were injured. Pretty classless but so is making a rap after the second week of the playoffs.

Props to DSU they took us to the woodshed.

DSU will be playing GVSU on ESPN2 in the snow at 7:30 ET this saturday.

I don't know if that was weather smack at the state of Michigan but yes, it is snowing up here today and it did a little bit over the weekend. The forecast in Allendale is calling for snow every day through Thursday and then sunny/partly cloudy and in the 30s for the weekend. In other words, typical upper Midwestern weather for the month of December. Delta State better dress warm because it's not an easy task to win at Lubbers Field...especially in the last few years.

e wrote:are both games on espn2? all the kcstar said was, "Sunday’s game will be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU at either be 4:30 or 6 p.m."
NWMST has to play on ESPNU due to them playing a crappy NE team in the semifinal

Snow games are rare down south. So we usually state the fact..."in the snow"

IF DSU plays like they did this saturday....I can see them as national champs.

But playing GVSU in the Snow in allendale....I doubt it happening.

Yes.

Wrong. I was at the MSU/OleMiss game in 83 where State's game winning field goal was blown back through the uprights and called no-good. Game over. Thanks for coming.

NWMST is going to Flo-town.

GVSU is up 28-14 on Delta. Poor Coaching is doing Delta in.

GVSU is just insane.

BTW, Why is a school with 24,000 enrollment in D2?

GVSU vs. DSU
24000 vs. 4000

The coach's gamble on the punt block worked out leading to a cheap TD. Finnerty had a strong first half. 30 minutes until another trip down to Alabama.

the fact that a school with 24K students is playing against ones with 4-6K is horseshit. It smells worse than a 3/4 page van reply post

As the official T1B spokesman for GVSU...there aren't 24,000 students on the main Allendale campus. There are multiple campuses around the area...9 total. I have no idea how many go to the main campus but there are three mini campuses in downtown Grand Rapids and then there are 3 small campuses in Muskegon and small campuses located in Traverse City and Holland. I think the school likes the idea of including all 9 campuses as one, thus the total enrollment of full and part-time students add up to around 24,000.

In other words, chill out with the enrollment smack NMSUFan...
