Speaking of past boards...

My wife bought a computer on e-bay, (kinda "Christmas comes early" for the Tiny one). So, I am going through, setting up my E-mail, setting up the network, etc.... And instead of using Myspace, for some reason I insert my.yahoo as the homepage when I am setting it up. As I'm doing this, the page loads, and on the left hand side there is the quick links that I used to use, when I used to use my.yahoo. I glanced at them and saw the old bookmark for The New World (yes, that shows how long ago I set up my page at yahoo). Just for shits and giggles, I clicked the link, and this is what I saw:

[web]http://www.m7sports.com/[/web]

What's this, is someone trying to resurrect or old stomping ground......

Anyone still have a copy of that "FUKKER bus" pic, with all our avatars in the seats; from where we loaded up the bus for TNW?

SCIII
TNW
kc clones
Smackboard
T1B

Which one had the best NFL Forum .... ?

I'd rate early TNW as the best.
SCIII was interesting because it was fresh, and there was a steady influx of newbies.
Clones and Smackboard sort of blend together in my mind.
Good times.

T1B blows monkey spunk.
Seriously considering retirement.

I'll let you know on Monday.

None of the above. The correct answer is HØNKSVILLE.

HØNKSVILLE was a great board, probably the best scat chat board I've ever seen. No holds barred chat with a bunch of psychotics never sucks. I wish Jay would come out of the basement and it is damn sad that the old HØNKSVILLE-Elba wars went the way of the Dodo. But HØNKSVILLE was barely an NFL board. As I recall, only about 4-5 teams were represented, and there was very little in the way of football smack.

For my money, the old TNW board was the best pure NFL board. It had the most teams represented and balanced straight football chat with smack just about 50-50.

Sack up, jackasses. All of those boards are gone - gone for good.

Paula - getting repeatedly plungered, banned, reinstated, and plungered again doesn't constitute "retirement".

You recall incorrectly.

You ignorant basTURD.

The url was NFLHistory.com.

We had many lively debates regarding Green Bay’s 12 NFL championships.

BTW, this link brought back some memories:

Then this one should bring even more.

Beautiful stuff. But far more than a football smack board. No, I prefer to think of HØNKSVILLE as a testament to all that was sick, depraved and good about the Internets back in the days of 56k modems, dancing hampsters and dot com startups.

I came on during TNW. And I can't recall much about any of them, does it that make that much of an impression on you guys? I remember my college years, early career jobs, and my mom's birthday. These boards, while somewhat entertaining dont make that much of a dent in my consciousness.

Huh?

No, you came on during SCIII and got in a big ass flame war with Scotty. One is which you held (sorta') your own for a while before throwing up the white flag. Scott was way ahead of the curve back then. Remember when BEB turned into a puddle of quivering internet flesh?

You found TNW because, being impressed with your posts, I sent you the link.

Ring a bell now?

TNW was nailz. The best remnants of that BOARD are still here at T1B, they just don't post that much anymore.

Um, you are correct. See I told you I don't remember much. I seem to recall TNW being a good football board. I wonder if we have all gotten older and lost some of that youthful testosterone. Now we're like a bunch of old bulls in the pen, stomping and snorting around, worrying no one.

You should be the board historian. And though somewhat tardy, a thanks to you for sending me the link.

Wow....trips down memory lame.

I jumped from the old ESPN college chat to the Rome board circa 1997-1998-1999.....SCIII always kept ya busy.

Goonies never die.......(paul as sloth?)

I recognize class when I see it.

As for being the board historian, yeah... I forget no thing... even some things I'd like to forget.

Wrong.

Nothing against Wags, but we already have a board historian. That would be BSmack.

TNW was the shit......for awhile.

SCIII was great. I was just out of college and basically a glorified secretary at the time. I couldn't wait to to log in every Monday morning though.

Even after a loss. Going back and forth with KC Scott, Dave, Felix, Paul, Logan......

I remember calling out KC Scott and that dude responded with class and stuff.....

Fucker

Good times.

Bottom line. AFC West representation was the strength of that board as it is this one.

Raiders/KC

Raiders/Mules

Raiders/Dolts

No coincidence that the Raiders demise equaled the demise of the message board.

RACK those that still represent.
