What is your response to the Gay Penguin Story??

Link to story on how the Gay Penguin shakes up School...

and Tango Makes Three...

The Central Park Zoo is home to all kinds of animal families. But Tango the penguin's family is a bit different -- she has two fathers. This heartwarming story will open the minds of readers, resonating long after the story has finished.

"A touching and delightful variation on a major theme." -- Maurice Sendak
"This wonderful story of devotion is heartwarming proof that Mother Nature knows best." -- Harvey Fierstein

"Charming! And Tango Makes Three proves that all kinds of love can create a family." -- Wendy Wasserstein

"A little miracle for children. Funny, tender, and true, the story of Tango will delight young readers and open their minds." -- John Lithgow

"Cole's pictures complement the perfectly cadenced text...Those who share this with children will find themselves returning to it again and again... for the two irresistible birds at its center and for the celebration of patient, loving fathers who "knew just what to do." -- Booklist, starred review

"In this true, straightforwardly (so to speak) delivered tale, two male chinstrap penguins at New York City's Central Park Zoo bond, build a nest and -- -- thanks to a helping hand from an observant zookeeper -- -- hatch and raise a penguin chick...Readers may find its them of acceptance even more convincing for being delivered in such a matter of fact, non -- preachy way." -- Kirkus Reviews, starred review

"[A] heartwarming tale. Older readers will most appreciate the...larger theme of tolerance at work in this touching tale." -- Publishers Weekly, starred review

"This joyful story about the meaning of family is a must for any library." -- School Library Journal, starred review

"And Tango Makes Three is bound to raise eyebrows, but for those of us eager to encourage our children to include, rather than exclude, it's a welcome addition to the library of families. The well -- written, perfectly placed text is delivered with a deft touch...Happily, and surprisingly, And Tango Makes Three rises above the message it carries and becomes the rarest of birds, a 'message book' that's also a really good story." -- New York Times Book Review

I blame Pelosi.

Should this book be separated from other books? or allowed in school?

Separated, if the pages are not already stuck together. :shudder:

If I caught two male penguins trying to "nest" each other, I might hose them down with cold water.

Being penguins and all, though, they might not even notice.

If they're going to do it...then go all the way.

They should be snorting crank, shoving rodents up their asses, buggering young boys and dying miserable AIDS infested deaths.
Not possible. No way the priests would let the Penguins horn in on their action.

You guys are WHACK!!

You cannot control penguins..or tell them they should go all the way!!My questions were:

Would you respond in any way if your 5 year old son brought this book home?

I would tell my son, " penguins are gay. Do not be a Penguin!
Be a Lion or a Tiger or a Bear!! But do not grow up to be a Penguin!!"
(I would use Do Not vs. Don't! It conveys a stronger message!)

Should this book be separated from other books? or allowed in school?

Ignore the damn book and it will leave you alone!! It's when you start getting all angry that just gets this shit more attention..

What is the right age to teach children about the Birds and the Bees?

As soon as they ask as long as you teach them at an age appropriate level.

Do not give a 5 year old a Hustler magazine and tell him..

Now, That's F*cking!! Start the kid off with Playboy. It's more civilized!

What is the right age to teach children about .. "the penguins"?

NEVER! F*ckin Penguins are gay! Stay away from Penguins!!

*****
this guy run's into a bar and said, "Quick! Give me a drink!"
The bartender can see he is upset and gives him a shot.
The guy chugs it down and asks the bartender, "How big is a penguin?"
The bartender says "About 2 feet tall."
The guy says "Give me another drink!"
The bartender does, and again the guy asks "How tall is a penguin?!"
The bartender again says "About 2 feet! Why the questions about penguins?"
The guy says "I think i just ran over a nun."

Maybe Lyle Lovett got it right?

I don't go for fancy cars
For diamond rings
Or movie stars
I go for penguins
Oh Lord I go for penguins

Throw your money out the door
We'll just sit around
And watch it snow
I go for penguins
Oh Lord I go for penguins

Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
To my needs

Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
To my needs
To my needs
To my needs

Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
Penguins are so sensitive
